I've been in the city a few times, but I've never been to Dylan's Candy Bar so I decided to finally make the trip. Dylan's is incredible there's three levels and everything is candy themed. The only thing that made me give it four starts instead of five is that the prices are outrageous. Although I know the city is... More

Neat candy shop near Central Park. I'm not a big candy person so could have done without but our group wanted to pick up souvenirs for our children. Didn't really see anything too unique but kids would love to visit here I'm sure.

This place is a lot of fun and you can find some obscure things. When we went over Christmas it was horrifically over-packed and they did not have nearly enough staff to cope with it. The sweets are also very very overpriced but that's what you get in NYC. I would go for a look and then buy sweet elsewhere... More

This is such a fun store. If you're looking for gourmet, you may be disappointed. But if you like sweets and lots of variety, this is your place! It's really an experience you shouldn't miss. It's like being in a fairy tale.

Anyone who tells you this place is a sweet shop could not be more wrong as it is so much more than that. It is an experience! Three floors of endless fun and with so much colour- definitely glad we stopped here!

I love fun stores with great displays and good service--so good on that. But Dylan's private label chocolates were so-so (at best). The chocolate pretzels were stale, the chocolate fudge was dry, the macadamia milk chocolate was blah and tough to chew.i had gotten my kids' hopes up and the only thing they liked were commercial brands.

I pop in here nearly every time I pass back through my hometown. Half the fun is the product mix always changes with the seasons: Halloween, Christmas, Easter, etc. There is also a section devoted to old, hard to find classics like Mary Janes. Yes of course you pay a premium and you could simply visit any neighboring Duane Reade... More

Who needs the sweet shops of Times Square when you can go to Dylan's Candy Bar. It has 3 levels with one level containing a cafe that plays candy themed music. The non-alcoholic drinks are fantastic and the decorations are bright and interesting. The other 2 levels are dedicated to candy. The staff are friendly and you can sample some... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
