This is a wonderful and very large store with different levels and a restaurant. There is so much to see and a lot of very helpful people here to assist you to find your special American girl doll and all the clothes and accessories to match.

I do not have little girls and don't get the whole thing. However, I went with my nieces and shopped with a reserved personal shopper. Something else I didn't get. But best decision ever. "Sharon" was a gem. Kept the girls focused and on track. Definitely worth it.

Several weeks ago my nieces and I had a girls weekend in NY. One of our visits was to the American a Girl Place uptown, NYC. What a place; we were there for hours. We had a 9:30 breakfast in their cafe. Food was delicious. They even offered special chairs at the dining table for each American Girl doll. After... More

We visited this store a few days after Christmas. What a mistake. It was wall to wall people. You couldn't get close enough to the displays to look at anything. It was pretty much grab and run, except you couldn't move. I preferred the AG store in Chicago to this one.

My kids love american girls, and this store met their fantasies. There were lots of amazing displays that even I was taken into another world. Love the way they promote girl power. We also went to the cafe that my kids loved because they can have the snacks with their dolls! be careful it can be busy!

One of our main reasons for visiting New York from the UK was to visit the American Girl Store on 5th. Great experience for children, prices pretty high but then again we should have expected that. Only two negatives, 1) the cafe was fully booked for the entire duration of our stay, disappointed children but our fault as we didn't... More

When my daughter told me she wanted an American Girl doll for the holidays, I cringed. I knew this would be a very painful and expensive experience. We decided to make a morning of our adventure at American Girl. We bough the dolls in advance (thank you 15% off for online purchase) and we went to the store for clothing... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
