I booked this NYC Coffee Tour with Best Tours way in advance as a surprise for my son's birthday. We live in central PA so it was quite an involved process booking hotels, getting directions, etc. He was so excited to hear what I had planned for our overnight to the "big city". We initially received an e-mail confirmation from... More

My four year old, my friend, and I did the Williamsburg food tour. Knowledgeable tour guide, and a fun way to spend 1.-5 to two hours. The amount of walking may not be super appropriate for young kids if they are not in a stroller, and more elderly individuals, but participants can always drop out early. Great destinations. Particularly liked... More

We took a food tour of NYC and had a wonderful time. At our first stop, we had the best pizza in the city! It was a small place, but the pizza was great. Our next stops included a deli, a bagel shop, a Mediterranean place for falafel, a coffee shop, and finally, a cupcake shop! The food was great,... More

We just returned from a chocolate tour of Greenwich Village, Chelsea and Soho. Our tour guide Marcy was wonderful. She was as sweet as the samples we tried at the 6 locations that we visited. This is the second tour we've done with this company. Last year we tried the cupcake tour which was also lots of fun. I always... More

We were excited to experience the Chocolate Tour and for the most part, it was really good, just not great. The stores selected were outstanding and the samples provided were fantastic. It was nice variety of stores and not all just chocolate. We stopped at chocolate & fudge store (oldest in NYC), a bakery for cup cakes, a bakery for... More

My boyfriend and I were scheduled to take the "Drunk History Tour" this past Saturday. My experience with the company leading up to the tour was terrible. They gave us the wrong number of tickets and we had to reschedule our time slot several times. Not only that, but there is no phone number to talk to a representative so... More

My husband and I along with our 2 daughters (ages 12 and 13) thoroughly enjoyed this tour! I have been on many different tours in the U.S and Europe and this one was definitely one of the best! Our guide, Walter was very informative and engaging. There was just enough walking and the food was fabulous! We enjoyed fresh mozzarella... More

Husband and I had a fun time on this tour. I'm picky but still enjoyed most of the food, and my husband loved all of it! Don't remember everywhere we stopped exactly but the food we got was prosciutto and fresh mozzarella, "lard bread" (my husband's favorite thing of the whole trip!), margarita pizza and a cannoli to finish things... My boyfriend and I were in Chicago for a long weekend, and were VERY excited to do the Great Food Tour of Chicago. 2 days before the tour was scheduled (the day we were flying to Chicago), I received an email saying our tour was cancelled due to low numbers. I am in the tour operator industry and understand wanting... More

We participate in the Chocolate Tour on a Friday afternoon. It was great- we got to see a lot of Chelsea, SOHO, Greenwich and the West Village and tasted lots of yummy treats, Our tour guide was knowledgeable and shared a lot of little bits of information about the area. He showed us the facade of the Rachel/Monica's apt, took... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
