After several busy days rushing around the city and shopping with my wife and young child, we were pleased to visit the zoo. We went on a Monday, and there wasn't much of a crowd. The zoo is a very manageable size, and my daughter loved the sea lion feeding in the morning. They had some nice indoor exhibits (it... more

The zoo was very small, I was concerned that the penguins were in a simulated atmosphere with what appeared to be no access to daylight, it was a very bizarre setting. I saw one sleeping red panda, some sea lions in a small pool, no Polar Bears to be seen, a VERY small childrens area, I was unsure what other... more

My 5-year-old son loves all zoos, including animals and people there. So his indiscriminate love lowers the value of his opinion. Here are my two cents. First concerns price. As a member, I did not pay, but the price is bit higher given its size and appropriate given its location. I visited the zoo in the Monday afternoon, and it... more

I love this zoo. It's convenient to midtown Manhattan, clean, small, and very well organized. The exhibits are fun and informative. It's more manageable than the Bronx Zoo and has a charm all its own. The polar bears and sea lions are likely the star attractions, but the entire zoo is a wonderful experience, for any age group. This stop... more

We visited this little zoo in March while we were wandering through Central Park and thoroughly enjoyed it! It's not very big, but the exhibits were so nice - the enclosures were clean and updated and the animals looked content and well kept. We especially loved the rain forest area and the mention of "Where the Wild Things Are" on... more

I love Central Park Zoo. To me you have to go there if you are in New York as part of the experience. There is a wonderful easy going atmosphere and with the exception of weekends it has never been too crowded when I have been there. The entrance fee is reasonable and covers the petting zoo as well. I... more

Adorable little zoo. I just came back from a couple of days of sightseeing in New York city and Central Park zoo was one of my target sights. It was smaller than I expected but the animals there seemed happy for animals in captivity. I was talking to several of the volunteers there and found out that the polar bears... more

We visited Central Park Zoo because our friends that were in New York at the time did and they said it was good. We thought it was a lovely little zoo and was brilliant how it was just in the middle of a park/city. It was only $10 each to enter as well which is very cheap. It has a... more

A wonderful, tiny little zoo. Animals are healthy and typically very active, and their exhibits meet all the standards for quality animal care. Outdoor exhibits feature cold-tolerant animals such as polar bears, sea lions, and Japanese macaques. An immersive, tropical exhibit delights the eyes with a variety of colorful birds that are well-adjusted and photogenic. The transparent barrier of the... more

Reading these reviews makes me wonder whether these people went to the same place as I did. I enjoy zoos if the animals and conservation in general are benefitting. if they aren't, there's no point! In this tiny zoo penguins are kept in a long, painted room with water behind a long glass wall so we can see them above... more
