This zoo far exceeded my expectations! It's in the middle of central parks and you just cannot believe that there are skyscapers all around you and taxi cabs whizzing by just a block away while you're in this peaceful setting watching beautiful animals. Although it's small, there are quite a number of exhibits - snow leopars, seals, grizzly bears, penguins,... More

The zoo itself is very small, and yet it houses many fantastic animals that we haven't ever seen before. All animals have lovely housing, and seem to be well looked after and nourished. Seeing the Snow Monkeys in actual snow was quite amusing and we watched those messing around for quite some time. Also, the Snow Leopard was stunning. It... More

It's a small zoo , but has a good feel to it. Would definitely prefer Bronx zoo over this one. It's a good zoo and a nice time for the kids !!

If you've seen the movie Madagascar, you might think that the Central Park Zoo is a huge attraction in the middle of Central Park, NYC. Unfortunately, the zoo itself is quite small and does not have many animals. The architecture is lovely, but it is lacking in animals and activities for the price. You could visit the entire zoo in... More

I was staying in a hotel just 3 blocks from the zoo, and never having been thought I'd give it a try. I wasn't holding out much hope considering it was February and New York was experiencing some of its coldest weather in 20 years. There was a surprising number of animals on display despite the temps, including a red... More

would take you about half an hour to walk round this whole zoo, so tiny. was bit disappointed the Polar Bear enclosure was closed off as one of the polar bears had died that week so the only things left to see was penguins, sealions and snow leopard. was ok could give it a miss.

We arrived just in time for the Sea Lion feeding at 1:30PM and the feeders and the lady who explained to us about the Sea Lions when they were being fed obviously cared a great deal for the animals. However after this we found that although the zoo had some exhibits it really didn't live up to what we expected.... More

This is a nice little zoo. The habitats looked well maintained and the bird house was a total treat for the kids. Our 7 & 5 yr old children were enthralled with the sea lions. They really seemed to interact with them as they would swim to and fro while the kids ran along the glass. It was a chilly... More

We traveled to NYC to view a Broadway show, and stayed overnight with plans to do some touristy things the next days. One of the "must-dos" on our list was to visit Central Park. My teen daughter and her friend decided that one of their "must-dos" was to visit the zoo. Having just been to Animal Kingdom in 2012, I... More

Travelling from the UK, we felt the the price of entry for Central Park Zoo was amazing - $12 per person. On a cold winter's day we weren't expecting to get a great view of all the animals and yes some were hiding. The main zoo was nicely laid out although some of the enclosures seemed really small - the... More
