Very good zoo for kids. Quite small for adults or older children but it's perfect for kids. Nice little movie for them too. Must see

This is quite a small zoo and the entrance fee of $18 I felt was quite high, I did not think some of the larger animals had enough room to move around properly but they are part of a conservation program? Never sure what I would prefer, a chance of freedom or to be locked up for a breeding program... More

Very good for the kids, and also for toddlers. There's a Child Zoo section where the kids can feed the animals and pat them. There are animals feeding shows (Penguins and Sea Lions). As an added bonus you can watch a 4-D movie (Rio) available. Discounted tickets available online or by credit-card self-service payment terminals.

Generally, I love the zoo, but we visited today and left feeling a bit sad. The exhibits are cramped and way too crowded and the animals just looked sad. It was very depressing. The weather was fantastic, so being out and about was nice, but even the sea lions looked trapped in their small tank. I am not a crazy... More

This was a really nice way to spend an hour or so but please don't go along expecting a fantastic giant zoo with lots of animal because you will be disappointed. To be honest there was not a lot there - penguins, sea lions, monkeys, birds, snakes and lizards, and snow leopards (which were amazing). unfortunately the polar bear had... More

On the day that I went, many of the exhibits were closed. However, the penguin exhibit was amazing (many different types of adorable penguins hopping in and out of the water) and I loved the sea lion feeding show. The rainforest exhibit was impressive as well, but take your jacket off as it gets really hot in there. You can... More

Although we had a very pleasant hour we were disappointed that several of the exhibits were closed. As this is only a small zoo this impacted majorly on our trip and feel we should of been notified before purchasing our tickets - the 4d Rio however is a must of you have small children with you

There was a variety of zoo animals including an uncooperative snow leopard and a beautiful peacock. It took about 1.5 hours to see the entire zoo (including the children's zoo). We spent most of the time at the children's zoo. I was surprised since I have an 11 year old and an 8 year old, but there were many interactive... More

We had a few hours to kill and were up in the Central Park area so decided to walk through for a visit. Definitely on the smaller side, as you would expect in the middle of Manhattan, but had enough animals to make it worth the ticket price. They do need to find something to fill the old Polar Bear... We visited the Central Park Zoo on our last day in NYC. It isn't very big, and there really aren't very many animals. However, we were tired, and it was a nice filler to our experience in the city. The 4 D Imax movie is cute.
