Coming from Montreal, Canada we were not impressed. The zoo didn't have much to see and was quite pricey. 18$ to see very few animals in dirty environments. The least they could do would be to clean the tanks way more often all I could see is the mildew and grime on the windows of the sea lions and penguins.... More

After buying the $18 pp tickets we found out there were tickets for $12 if we had selected NOT to see some movie. Never saw this on the kiosk screen so beware! As for the zoo itself, the animals seemed sad and some of the enclosures (especially the penguins) were filthy with feces. Felt horrible for the animals.

The kids enjoyed the park but there really wasn't much to see but a bunch of birds. Lots of bird exhibits and one snow leopard.

I went there on a hot, humid day and it was super hot to be outside. However, I enjoyed the convenience of the location and saw the red panda and the penguin exhibit - those made the site worth the visit. It's a place folks take their kids, so I gather that's the main purpose. But I enjoyed it. It's... More

The zoo is small in size and does not have much animals but you can find birds all around you. Easy to locate in central park and also got a gift shop.

Its great to go to if you don't have the energy or you (or your kids) don't have the patience for the giant and spread out Bronx zoo. It has good representation of all the animal groups- and they are in a nice natural style environment. Its central in NY- so you can drop in for an hour or 2... More

I have been to central park countless times and never stumbled upon this zoo. So when the opportunity came up to visit with friends it was a must. Its incredibly easy to find if you follow the directions on the park website. My first impression was that the staff are super friendly. While we were in the exhibit featuring birds... More

I went on a cruise with my 4yo daughter. When leaving the ship from Manhattan Terminal, we had a couple of hours to spare before catching our flight out of LGA. Since the Central Park Zoo is about a 15 minute drive from the Pier, I decided to go there with my daughter. It is a very small zoo, maximum... More

This zoo is incredibly small with not many animals. It only took an hour to do including a break for lunch. It may be more suited for families with small children that haven't been to a zoo before. Not a bad zoo to visit the sea lion show was nice to see but I wouldn't return.
