Well worth a visit. It is a fairly small zoo but has a wide variety of animals & birds. Fabulous walk through aviary. We went through in 2 hours as it was late in the afternoon, but could have spent longer there.

We've been to Central Park so many times, but never entered the Zoo.. This time, as we were there with our 12 year old & our 5 year old. We've decided to give it a try. The Zoo is relatively small comparing to other we've been to.. but hey, it's NYC.. Like the rooms, so is the Zoo… We were... More

I was on vacation with a 16 year old girl and the day was cold and dreary but we still had an awesome. Nothing could have stopped us from having a great experience. I though my daughter would be bored but as you see in photos she loved it. Zoo is quite small but packed with close up animal viewing... More

A small zoo in the center of the Big Apple. Even though it is expected that only few species are at display - the zoo seems old and worn-out. Before paying entry fee - make sure that all buildings and displays are accessable.

Even on a brutally cold winter day this was a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours. Very reasonably priced entry and a great selection of animals to see all of whom looked every well cared for. Saw the Penguins being fed and also visited the two new grizzly bears which was a great highlight.

we had a great afternoon, being able to walk up and see the Penguins both in and out of water was nice. some came up to and stayed at the glass as if they were interacting with you. A small zoo with few animals but still makes for a great afternoon!

I have always put off visiting the Central Park Zoo. I really regret doing this. It turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip to New York City This spring break. The zoo is located in one of the most beautiful parts of New York City. It is clean, the grounds are beautiful, the workers are always... More

You won't see the lion, giraffe or hippo of the animated films! This is a small zoo, with small animals, but what there is is well done and enjoyable. We loved the snow leopard and red pandas, and enjoyed the sea lion show. The tropical zone is surprisingly large with exotic birds flying freely around you. Not an all day... More

The amount of animals is rather small, while the exhibits are rather large. This is good for the animals, but I did not expect to be seeing such a small zoo in New York City. The line was very short when I went, and the birds in the tropic area fly right in front of you or right next to... More
