What a view

We took the bus tour at night, and the driver found a great place to look back over the river and see the lights and the skyline. Truely a wonderfull place.

If you like well lit buildings packed close together then don't miss the NYC skyline. It will help remind you how crowded NYC has become.

The best view on Manhattan that I had, was from North Bergen, state New Jersey. I do recommend you to visit it! Take a bus from Port Authority from gate 212, any bus, it will cost you only 3,20€ - but you will se the Manhattan from another angle and it is worth it!

The most beautiful skyline I've never seen. Nothing like looking at Manhattan skyline from the water at a distance.

Following advice from TA , we saw the Skyline from the TOTR(Daytime) and Empire state(Night time). Both are worth a look .

Everywhere you look there are fantastic buildings, they just got better and better. Loved it. Nothing I disliked.

Though the Manhattan Skyline has changed over the years, it will never-in my eyes-be as majestic as when The Twin Towers were in the line up! Experience it at night time at least once to take in all of her amazing outlines of the buildings. Can't wait to visit again soon!

Love seeing this skyline over and over again, especially from tour buses. Magnificent view! We went over the Brooklyn Bridge on a Grayline Tour bus and enjoyed every minute of it.

Manhattan Skyline is amazing. The best way to see it is to go to the Jersey City/Hoboken Promenade. It is a walk along the "shoreline" of New Jersey facing Manhattan. Go there 30 minutes before sunset and see the changes in view, from full light to night. To get there, take the PATH from Penn Station or World Trade Center... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
