Tried to go to 30 Roc but wait was too long. There are many other rooftop bars and observation sites to choose from. The Empire State Building is set up for large crowds but find out the best time to go up to the observation deck and while waiting marvel at the beautiful architecture and use of materials.

The sun on the west side of these Manhattan skyscrapers are fantastic! Great views are also offered from the Brooklyn side, I am told.

It is spectacular! Day or Night. It looks even better from the New Jersey Side. The sheer magnitude of buildings and the new World Trade Center Tower make this a unique sight!

What is there not to like about this? So different now the Twin Towers have gone, but the new WTC is proudly in place.

As everyone esle has said, you've gotta see it to believe it. You might look at tons of hi res photos, but there's nothing better than seeing it with your eyes. Fascinating.

travelled over to Brooklyn late at night. Went down near the river café under the Brooklyn bridge ( I got off the subway at Clark street and walked the short distance down to the waterfront) The view was amazing, although the area was deserted as it was a cold March night,

We had a great view in our room at the Hyatt 48 Lex! It was beautiful, especially at night seeing all the buildings and lights.

We stayed in New Jersey at place that overlooks the skyline, and at night it is really impressive with all the lights. Taking the Staten Island Ferry is a good way to see that skyline during the day.

Went to Top of the Rock for the view. It was stunning, a beautiful clear morning, it actually made me cry! Could see over to the Statue of Liberty and beyond and in the other direction to Central Park. One of the best things I have ever done.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
