We were literally staying round the corner from Jazz Standard and were lucky to get in on a Friday night. We grabbed a couple of drinks whilst waiting in line for the previous performance to finish and were shown to a lovely table in an intimate setting. The staff, particularly our waitress, were great. It's a skill to be able... More

If you are NYC you must go to a jazz club and there are many. The Jazz Standard is as good as it gets. The right size of club with great views and excellent sound. The artists are why you go and they have a great line up! You won't be sorry. Most recently my sons and I went to... More

this is what a jazz venue should be like - intimate, great acoustics. Great to have full meal available - enjoyed the BBQ and southern-style menu. Good service. Saw the regular Monday night Charlie Mingus big band. This is definitely Mingus tribute band with lots of instruments, big rich sound, heavily orchestrated Mingus pieces, not a lot of improv -... Went there for a late night show after Broadway. It is far enough off Times Square that you don't get the annoyance of quite so many tourists. It's a nice little place to grab some late night eats and listen to good music. Fried chicken and cornbread are a must. The chicken is enough for at least 2.

We attended the 7:30pm show at the Jazz Standard last night. The show was a sellout on a Monday night, so you should consider buying tickets in advance rather than at the door. All seating is 'first come, first served'. Doors for our show opened at 6:15. We were there at 6:15 and glad we were! At 6:15 we could... More

We booked tickets on line for the Tierney Sutton 10:00 pm concert. No problem with the tickets, good seating, good selection of food. Concert started on time with welcoming staff. It was the first time that we had ventured out to a NYC club on our own but It worked and we enjoyed it.

Great set by Chris Bergson band at the Jazz Standard with family. They serve Blue Smoke Ale from the restaurant above and it's really good. The staff opened a new section to the side of the stage so we were able to sit close to the stage. They also serve Blue Smoke menu upstairs if you want a great meal.

This was my first taste of NY jazz, and seeing Jeremy Pelt and his band at this venue was amazing. The sound was great and price of admission decent. I would definitely recommend a visit to this venue as it attracts some of the more experienced performers on the scene.

Great music offerings, great sound, and not as packed in as many jazz clubs. This informal spot serves rather pricey, surprisingly good southern influenced food and the tables can be very close. You will hear all the pre-music conversations around you. Good idea to make a reservation, and you can just order a beer. The sets are about 60 minutes,... More
