Great food, great service, great music!

A small, intimate place for lovers of standard jazz. You should arrive early to get one of the seats closer to the stage!

During last year's trip to NYC, I came to Jazz Standard twice. My first visit was 5-star, but the second suffered from a very sub-standard server. On this visit, we're back to 5-stars. Came for the Mingus Big Band (they were great -- though this evaluation is not of them. They play most Mondays). I couldn't figure what to order... More

What a wonderful night. My friend and I went to this jazz club after a recommendation from a friend. How right they were. We went on a Monday to see the Mingus band and we loved everything about it. The music was good, the service was excellent and the drinks were readily available and not too expensive. They do serve... More

We had already eaten upstairs at Blue Smoke before the Jazz started because we were not aware that food was served during the performance. The performance was great and the atmosphere was good too. The drummer Chip White was awesome!

The Jazz Standard music venue is located in the basement of Blue Smoke restaurant, and it is a good idea to get there early (for the first set) to get good seats. The entry for the second set is not so smooth – we waited almost 30 minutes beyond the “doors open” time in a tight stairway before being allowed... More

Very good Mingus band concert in a comfortable jazz club with good drinks and pleasant crowd. Acoustics are good as well.

We were very pleased with the friendliness and help from the employees - above and beyond. Great music, reasonably priced and an all-together excellent evening.

We booked tickets online the night before. The first set starts at 7:30, and doors open at 6:15, so we arrived then and were pretty much able to pick where we sat. Dinner is served from the upstairs restaurant, Blue Smoke. We took advantage of their three-course offering, which included an appetizer, entrée, and dessert. A reasonable amount of food... More
