We went by and drove around, but the entire site is concealed by large signs and fences advertising the website where you can check on the construction progress. Visit in a few years when there's something to see. more

While the idea behind Ground Zero is great, right now, it's simply a hole in the ground with a high fence around it. There are no signs around with any facts unless you go to the nearby church. I would suggest going to the world financial center which overlooks the sight, to take it all in. It's kind of nice... more

A must see area to pay respects to those who lost their lives in the 9/11 tragedy. It will be excellent once the new memorial is finished to give visitors a focus to pay their respects but at the moment this is in transition phase and there really is not anything to see as it is a large construction site.... more

We went to the Twin Towers site April 7th 2009, to all intents and purposes its a huge building site. Its not until you get to the Museum on Liberty Street and take the Audio Tour that you get the feel of the place. It is an extraordinary feeling, we went on the audio tour (a guide tour is also... more

I went to Ground Zero in March 2009 and this was the 2nd time I had been. When I went in 2005 there was a metal fence that surrounded the Ground Zero site with a plaque of remembrance and boards etc of the event. Now they have started the foundations of the Freedom Tower that has all gone. Now there... more

Last weekend I visited the WTC and was truly disgusted that the area around this site has become home to hoards of people selling twin towers pictures, t-shirts, statues, trinkets, flags, including conspiracy theory wackos giving speeches how this was an inside job! A street musician was actually playing a solemn version of the Battle Hymm of the republic with... more

Today is the seventh anniversary of 911. I heard on the radio the ground zero site is still basically a hole in the ground. They urged the NY authorities to press forward so we can see the reconstruction completed in our lifetime. Still, a place has been constructed for those millions of us who want to see. We stopped to... more

We went to Ground Zero in March 2006 and we honestly didn't know what to expect! In terms of viewing the site, there wasn't that much to see (it was a very busy construction site). However, we just walked around the perimeter, reading peoples personal messages, pictures, deceased lists and information which were placed on the railings, and you couldn't... more

We had mixed emotions heading off to Ground zero. I remember seeing the awful events unfold on the tv back in the UK so it was only right we payed our respects to those who lost their lives on that tragic day. When arriving it was very quiet on a Sunday morning with only a few people there. The one... more

Visited a week before Chrismas , 2007. Need to stop by at Tourist Information / Museum located across the street from Ground Zero. This is temporary museum, while the permanent one is being build at the ground zero. and small but very well done museum. A place where people have left messages, stories related to the event and many more.... more
