Description: Once is the celebrated new musical based on the Academy Award-winning...
Once is the celebrated new musical based on the Academy Award-winning film. It tells the story of an Irish musician and a Czech immigrant drawn together by their shared love of music. Over the course of one fateful week, their unexpected friendship and collaboration evolves into a powerful but complicated romance, heightened by the raw emotion of the songs they create together. Brought to the stage by an award-winning team of visionary artists and featuring an ensemble cast of gifted actor/musicians, once is a musical celebration of life and love: thrilling in its originality, daring in its honesty... and unforgettable in every way.

I really enjoyed the music in this show, I have never seen the movie, but the most unique thing about this show was it had an intimate feeling, like an off broadway production. The actors never leave the stage because when they are not part of the scene then they are sitting on a chair off to the side playing... More

Our only hope is that everyone take the time to read all reviews before throwing your money away. My wife and I just love Musicals and being Irish and after a week of Irish Festivites in Toronto we were definitely in the mood to see a good Irish Based Musical?.What a disappointment ! It has to be the worst show... More

Get there early to be invited onstage into an Irish Pub and be served a nice whiskey or beer with the cast. Return to your seat warmed with your beverage and the feeling of connection to the audience and cast you sipped with. The curtain rises on a story of star crossed lovers, each hoping for that ONCE in a... More

I have boxes of playbills from the past 30 or so years, and I can honestly say that this performance ranks in the top five. The music is so integrated into the production, it's all seamless. Staging so creative. Performers are multi-talented. Great show.

We booked "Once" before leaving home. It lived up to all our expectations. A dynamic and talented production.

Once, an Irish love story was wonderful! We decided on a Saturday morning to take the train to New York and find a show and have dinner. We went to the Red Steps in Times Square at Father Duffy Square at Broadway and 47th Street to buy last minute tickets from the Theatre Development Fund. We decided on Once the... More

Very boring and poor performances. I was never captured by the acting or singing. Wish I could say more positive but just was not there. We were able to mingle on the set before starting and during intermission and even buy refreshments at the pub bar. Having spent time in Dublin pubs it would be interesting how locals review the... This is an unusual show with floating sets and the cast ever-present on stage. Very well done. Superb acting and music. Trust this will return to Broadway soon!

Where to start. As a long time supporter and consumer of musicals I was excited to see this production, which I had yet to get around to seeing. Thankfully I spent a massive sum on 4 tickets right before closing. Unfortunately, this musical was awful top to bottom besides the choreography. The music is processed pop culture gagarbage worthy of... More

very sad to see this show close. We went to the last show on Sunday afternoon. If you can, catch the Tour in your local city. So much talent on the stage. No orchestra - all the actors are musicians and play on stage.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
