It tells the story of an Irish musician and a Czech immigrant drawn together by their shared love of music. Over the course of one fateful week, their unexpected friendship and collaboration evolves into a powerful but complicated romance, heightened by the raw emotion of the songs they create together. Brought to the stage by an award-winning team of visionary artists and featuring an ensemble cast of gifted actor/musicians, once is a musical celebration of life and love: thrilling in its originality, daring in its honesty... and unforgettable in every way. « less

See it, see it, see, it....what more can I say?? I get goosebumps just thinking about it. This is a very talented group of people and a fantastic musical. The stage is set up as a bar in Ireland and the cast come on to play whilst you are having a drink before the show. All of the cast members... More

This was the reason we went to NY for the weekend and it did not disappoint. The songs were true, the music rousing and beautiful, the actors fantastic. We are happy we attended and would recommend to others!

I saw it with the original cast. This would be my first musical in an actual Broadway theater. When the house opens, you can go onstage and buy a beer (for $15) and listen to the cast sans the two leads. About 5 minutes before the musical starts, they have you leave the stage. It's usually when the character Guy... More

Great cast... love the little comical moments done during "set" changes. Everyone in the show was wonderful and truly looked as if they really enjoyed themselves.

This was an eclectic, cute off-Broadway play up until about a year ago with great reviews. It is now on Broadway in the same style, but be prepared that what you will get is not an elaborate over-the-top production like LesMis, Lion King etc. This is intimate, poignant and personal. You feel very close to the stage no matter where... More

I wished I had seen "Once" first and then "Kinky Boots" second instead of the reverse order. My judgement was more impaired because I had seen "Kinky Boots" the night before. The "Once" story was good but more poignant and the vibe a bit different than "Kinky Boots". I didn't realize that before the show started, that the musicians/actors would... More

We watched this show after seeing "The Book of Mormon" both Tony Award winners and completely different. The novel thing we liked about Once was the removal of the music from the orchestra pit to the stage and all the actors participated in the prodcution of the music. The story line was solid and kept ones interest although not a... More

Once is the story of young Irishman in Dublin pining for his girlfriend who has gone to NYC. He meets a Czech girl and they start to fall in love. Good story. Good music, although some of the songs were just ok. Before the show and during the intermission, the audience can go on stage and have drinks on the... More

The theatre is small, quaint and you feel like the audience is an extension of the musical. If you enjoy life, you'll enjoy this play. Drinks are expensive but probably typical of most theaters. Obtained 2nd row seats, just off right aisle through AmEx a few days before the show at face value.

The music was amazing. This isn't a huge production like Wicked or Phantom. The theatre is small and intimate. The story was very compelling and easy to follow. My husband really doesn't like going to plays, but I drag him to plenty anyway. He said this is the best play he has ever been to.....ever!!!
