Owner description: Once is the celebrated new musical based on the Academy Award-winning film. It tells the story of an Irish musician and a Czech immigrant drawn together by their shared love of music. Over the course of one fateful week, their unexpected friendship and collaboration evolves into a powerful but complicated romance, heightened by the raw emotion of the songs they create together. Brought to the stage by an award-winning team of visionary artists and featuring an ensemble cast of gifted actor/musicians, once is a musical celebration of life and love: thrilling in its originality, daring in its honesty... and unforgettable in every way.

A must watch show. I Will watch it again and again. Saw people tearing up at the end of the show. Great experience.

What a great night to spend with this talented group of actor/musicians. The set and story are both simple, but the acting and music are both spectacular. We had seen the movie and enjoyed it - but nothing compares with being up close and personal with the live actors and wonderful Irish folk music. Set changes are wonderfully entertaining. We... Jan 4 is closing date - very sorry to hear that. This was not only fabulous music and acting, but the presentation was so unusual. One stage and the actors never left the stage - sat to the side while they were acting as the orchestra. I love the music and loved the movie but I liked the play better.

We lined up at tks for this show so paid 40% less for the tickets. The show was good - different to any other Broadway show I have seen as it was not a full on non stop dance show spectacular, more subdued but having said that the music and singing was very entertaining. It was a love story so... More

When you enter the theater the stage is set up like a cafe/bar and the actors, who are also musicians, are playing a rousing number. It nicely sets the tone. All the actors play their own instruments, including mandolin, drums, violins, and an accordion in addition to the guitars and bass. The singing was wonderful. The story, if you haven't... More

first saw this show in Charlotte with the touring show. Both shows were great, but the Broadway show seemed to have less energy. We arrived early to be able to get on stage for a drink. Theater web site says doors open 45 minutes before curtain, try 25 minutes before. They also don't tell you that only the far right... More

See it before it closes on January 4th. It is one of my favorite musicals ever. It is charming and beautiful and heartbreaking. You will leave the theatre feeling alive and creative.

This production simply did not live up to the strong emotional impact of the movie by the same name. The concept of playing this from a barroom scene just didn't work for us.

This is just a lovely play about normal people. Based on a true story and made into a movie it has evolved into a lovely musical. It is kind and gentle and shows the best of what people can be. If you get the chance try to Once.
