Disappointed that they feel the "F" bomb is needed throughout the show. Good music. We won't be able to recommend it to any of our friends though.
Very well done, singing and acting. Enjoyed every minute! Did not disapoint. We were told it was hard to understand what they were saying. We had no problem.
We went to Once last Thanksgiving in NYC and loved it so much that we decided to see it again during this trip. Most of the Broadway shows I've seen have been what I would consider more classical (Phantom, Les Mis, etc); Once seemed unique & different. Some of the songs are just spectacular & definitely stick with you. So... More
This year was my wife's turn to pick a show to celebrate our anniversary. I thought a show with no scenery changes and no pit orchestra would be boring.I also thought the story sounded boring. The show was amazing. I didn't want it to end. I left the theater humming the tunes. The cast is amazing. To act and perform... More
Great music, mundane plot. Its not a Jersey Boys or a Motown. No desire to see it again....sorry. However the young lady who plays the Czech is superb and very funny with excellent timing.
If you need an earworm, Once will deliver in spades. The cast delivers on this translation from the movie in a meaningful, heartfelt performance that breaks the typical Broadway mold. This music is not the big stage number found in Phantom or Les Miserable nor are the sets particularly complex or rapidly changed, but rather brilliantly sung performances of a... More
Very fun musical. The actors/musicians are very talented and engaging. I usually like to sit a way back from the stage, but we sat up front for this one and glad we did. You almost feel like a patron of the bar. Worth a visit. Only down side - theatre employees are on the rude side!
Once has been on my list for a while and this Thanksgiving I finally saw it. What a fantastic show. The talent, voices, music, dancing, incredible. Every actor plays an instrument--I was blown away. The setting makes it feel very interactive. When the leads sang, I got chills. You will fall fast for this show.
Great music, Irish dancing (great energy!) and a touching love story. I really enjoyed this one. A band performs on stage for a half hour before the show begins and you can stand in line to buy your drinks at the bar on stage and linger a bit. (Soda is $10 and I believe drinks are $15 with a take-home... More
The theatre is open a half hour before the show starts with a bar available onstage that actually serves drinks. Fun, The actors are talented, each playing musical instruments and singing as well as acting, very talented. The show was engaging with surprises, twists and conflict. A welcome change from predictable.
