If you only go one place in New York city this has to be it. Anyone who witnessed the horror of 911 will be powerfully moved. Although I wasn't personally affected (any more than the rest of this who watched from afar) I had always wanted to see the site, particularly after the memorials were built. It did not disappoint. The tour with two fireman who were there was the most moving experience. You did not need to see just to hear what they had to say. Simple structures are the memorials but the names on them still remind us of this senseless tragedy. The grounds are immaculate. Not a stone or mulch chip out of place.
