If you are in the neighborhood, Union Square's farmer's market is a great place to wander on a sunny day. Relative to San Francisco Bay area farmer's markets, it is not very big so if you are expecting something like a SF Ferry Building experience, re-think quicky. But what is there is very authentic, and you can get breads, flowers,... More

The quality of produce, breads, and flowers are second to none as the Hudson Valley is a virtual cornucopia of high quality foods. It is almost overwhelming so I suggest going with a menu and fill in what you need...Make the trip every Wed and Sat More

Amazing selection of produce, meats, cheeses, and other foodie wonders. Not to mention the flowers! We didn't buy anything because we were traveling but we were REALLY tempted. A fun change of pace from the usual NYC stuff. More

For someone who mostly orders in or brings home precooked meals from the market, that's something! I also delight in the numerous flower and plant offerings to use inside or on my terrrace. More

I walk through the market every day, so I'm a litle spoiled, but it really is worth a trip if you're from out of town. Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and weekends. Get a Martin's pretzel - they're the best pretzels I've ever had and the guys at the stand are funny and friendly. All the vendors are knowledgeable and there's always... More

Union Square Park is transformed into a greenmarket on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. I am a Saturday marketer and this is the place to be early on Saturday mornings. The assortment of produce is incredible, and you can eat your way through the market sampling wonderful cheeses, breads, honey, wine, pretzels, apples, and anything you can imagine. Come early...
