During a three hour private tour with Eric, my husband and I were throughly impressed with Eric Ferara. He quenched our desire to know more about the area once inhabited by "mafia" known names. and other immigrants who graced our shores. Eric was extremely knowledgable and delighted to answer questions. He also opened our eyes to the present day redevelopment... More

This is the first time I write a review for tripadvisor. I feel I have to do it, because the tour was spectacular. My wife and myself were thrilled by what Eric knew and the way he brought us this period of Manhattan history closer. So exciting. You almost felt like going back in a time-machine. This tour could have... More

It was an informative and enjoyable tour and our guide, Eric, answered all of our questions. We were brought back to the early days of the mob era in NYC and of life in Little Italy. If you love NYC like I do, you will really enjoy the tour!

Eric was extremely knowledgeable, and had tons of first hand accounts and stories to share. He really added a lot of color to the history, and tied everything together really well. Overall, its a great tour if you are interested in NYC and its history.

We wanted to go on a memorable walking tour on our first trip to NYC and couldn't have chosen a better one. Eric was incredibly knowledgeable and opened our eyes to details we would never have found before. As a huge fan of mob films and TV shows, it was wonderful to be shown around by an expert on the... My wife, son and I spent two and half hours with Eric on his Mob tour and it was one of the best I've ever done. I'm a vet of many a walking tour in many a world capital and this guy is very very good. You don't walk far if you look at the map but you are on... More

Met Eric this morning for the mafia tour and immediately thought what a nice bloke. His knowledge came from his background growing up within the community which he shared with us. Eric is passionate about keeping the Italian immigration history alive and today we were given an insight to the rise of the 'mob', prohibition and shown properties that were... More

Did a private tour with Eric and had a fantastic time. Eric was fun and very knowledgeable. His personal insights and stories combined with walking the actual sites bring history to life. If you have any interest in mafia lore or Italian immigrant history this is the tour for you.

We booked the Mafia walking tour having read the glowing reports on Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed! Eric Ferrera gave a fantastic tour of Little Italy, he has such an incredible wealth of knowledge and brings this information to his audience in an interesting and entertaining way. We wondered if this would be suitable for our 12 year old son... More

We went on the guided walk with Eric and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a really interesting couple of hours with a huge depth of knowledge from Eric. Every question I threw at him, he was able to answer with his insight and personal experience. Time to look on Amazon for his books!!

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
