This synagogue was so full of history. The restoration is breathtaking! I took some Scouts to visit and had a private tour. No one was bored....not even the Scouts! They were full of questions. This should be on everyone's bucket list!

Firstly, let me start by stating that I very rarely write reviews. The only reviews I have previously written have been negative ones. I have done this in the hope that others would not suffer the same bad experiences that I have. I am the sort of person who expects good service. I provide a good service in my profession and... So we had booked the Mafia tour and unfortunately it decided to snow. Eric communicated via email to reschedule for the day after. Which we did. Eric took us through a fascinating tour of the Mafia history, showed amazing photos, and talked us through what happened over the years of the biggest names in the Mafia/Mob history. He gave great... Eric gave my partner and I a private walking tour. He was really flexible with dates and times even though we booked last minute. We go on many walking tours on every holiday we have been to and this was by far the best tour we have taken. His local knowledge and stories were incredibly interesting. It was so good... More

Eric was prompt, informative and friendly. His easy manner and clear knowledge of his subject made 2 hours fly by. No matter how much you think you know about this subject, he knows more. His sources are personal and impeccably researched. We were looking for an unusual experience and thought this would fit the bill. We were not disappointed and... More

An amazing walking tour through the lower east side. Eric really knows his stuff and presents it in an interesting way. He made a two hour tour seem like it was 30 minutes. His knowledge of the beginnings of the Mafia in NYC and how it interacted wit the lower east side culture was fascinating. Highly recommended!!!!

Took the mafia walking tour with Eric on 22nd November. The tour was informative and gave a good insight into past mafia history. Also got a great insight into how the lower east side was formed culturally. Really enjoyed the tour and Eric was a fantastic guide. Would highly recommend.

Maybe you didn't get my message that I was attacked by a dog and required a plastic surgeon to reattach my lip. Sorry your vacation was ruined. More

Was really looking forward to this when my wife booked it and I wasn't disappointed. The history of the mafia in the lower east side is fascinating and the best 2 hours (well it was closer to 3 hours) you will spend in NYC. Eric is a great guide and has a fantastic delivery style, it was also very interesting... More

Went to New York City with my Wife, Brother and his girlfriend in Sept. 2014... We went to all the popular attractions in the City.. But the Mafia Tour was one of the highlights of our vacation.. We were able to walk through Little Italy and get a lot of history of the Italian Mafia.. Eric Ferrara was very knowledgeable... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
