My family surprised me with trip to NY fro New Years. While we were there we took the tour with Eric Ferrara on 12/28/13. We did not have really expectation of this tour, but Eric was amazing and very knowledgeable. It felt like we went back in time with the stories of "Little Italy". The tour was just (2) hours,... Just completed a private tour with Eric with about 18 people and all of us had an outstanding day! Eric not only had a wealth of information, but also communicated it in a way that kept the interest of our group, which included some school aged kids (15 years old). I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is... More

Eric was fantastic...he was very informative but in an informal kind of way. It never seemed as though we were being rushed...he was willing to answer any and all questions whether they were related to the tour or not...We were extremely pleased with the whole experience and would highly recommend it to others.

We took the Mafia tour on Jun 21st and Eric was a knowledgeable and personable guide. This was the most interesting tour I've ever been on and I could have kept going after our time was up! Eric really knows his stuff and I love listening to people who are passionate about something! We went all over the LES learning... More

We've done dozens of walking tours all over the world, and this was by far the best one we've ever taken. Also the best thing we did in NY. Wanted to take the Mafia (I know there is no such thing, but since this is a word many people recognize, I'm using it) tour. Didn't work out with our schedule,... More

We did the Mafia walking tour on our recent trip to NYC. My husband and I are both interested in mob history, and thought this would be a great way to walk the neighborhood that was Little Italy and learn more about the topic. Eric, our guide, as others have said, really knows his stuff. You can tell he has... More

We organized a private 2 hour tour for two with Eric Ferrara. We wanted to learn about the history and development of China Town, Little Italy and the Jewish district. Eric gave us what we asked for and more. Eric researches and writes books on NY history and consults for movies and TV, so he knows, and loves, the history... More

Other reviewers have commented on how great this tour is for the mafia aficionado, and I would highly recommend this tour for this type of person, too. (Eric makes a number of good cases for why various widely-shared stories--some of which I was aware--are simply wrong.) But it ought to be said that the tour is also just a great... More

We met with our tour guide Eric at 5th St and 2nd Ave in the lower east side, the site of an important gun confrontation in the 1930 Castellammarese gang war, as Eric informed us. Over the next couple of hours we continued to learn about NYC mafia history, as we walked through the lower east side and shown many... More

If you want to avoid the usual NYC tourist-trap tour or a Hollywood stereotyped story about the Mafia, then this tour is an absolute must when visiting NYC! This is the second time I have taken this walking tour (first time in May last year and again on Saturday June 7). I enjoyed it just as much as the first... More
