Francois, our tour guide for the Central Park tour, was very experienced and had a great imagination and eye for photography. The tour was very intimate, very helpful, and very educational and he was extremely patient and was able to open up my eyes and imagination to how to perceive certain images, landscapes and portraits. Definitely well worth the money... More

Very enjoyable tour . Good advises and help from Jean-François to make you discover many new possibilities to use your camera . Observe the light , the shadow , understand how to create a very personal photo . All this in a very unique place which is Soho. I recommend this tour for all level photographs ! JP

Very good guide, with many years of experience. He was able to give us very good tips on how to put dynamics in our pictures even with immobile objects like buildings. All that at a pace of New York. Very good.

I knew within a minute of meeting Jean-Francois that I would love this tour. He had a thick French accent and told me to switch my camera to manual mode. Photography + a French accent? WIN! He had superb technical knowledge plus a very creative eye, and was very kind and funny. This is the first time I've understood how... More

If you're looking for a fun afternoon learning and seeing things differently you're in the right place. Not only was J.Francois an informative guide but interesting and fun as well. I achieved wonderful shots of things I've looked at tons of times. I will absolutely do this again and recommend you do the same!

Our guide was very nice but not a great teacher. We booked this tour to also learn night photography but we didn't learn that much. We spent most of the time listening to how he sees "photography". And we disn't went to specific nice photo spots, so that's why I won't really recommend it for thet price.

A big thanks to our guide (J.Francois) for teaching and sharing his new and creative perspective in taking pictures of sky scrapers in New York especially in term of shadows, shutter speed and composition. In addition, he also had impart useful knowledge in panning to us.

We began our tour outside the Apple Store near Central Park on Saturday morning. Francois met us with great enthuaism. He wanted to see our cameras and asked each of us about our experience. At each photo stop he gave us individual instruction at our own level. He reviewed our pictures and offered suggestions on how to make them better.... More

I went on the Central Park Tour with tour guide François on a snowy Saturday morning. François was an amazing tour guide teaching us to make photographs out of something that seems to be of no interest. He was very friendly and even reached out to help us after the tour; he taught us how to take pictures of rushing... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
