Our guide was very nice but not a great teacher. We booked this tour to also learn night photography but we didn't learn that much. We spent most of the time listening to how he sees "photography". And we disn't went to specific nice photo spots, so that's why I won't really recommend it for thet price.

A big thanks to our guide (J.Francois) for teaching and sharing his new and creative perspective in taking pictures of sky scrapers in New York especially in term of shadows, shutter speed and composition. In addition, he also had impart useful knowledge in panning to us.

We began our tour outside the Apple Store near Central Park on Saturday morning. Francois met us with great enthuaism. He wanted to see our cameras and asked each of us about our experience. At each photo stop he gave us individual instruction at our own level. He reviewed our pictures and offered suggestions on how to make them better.... More

I went on the Central Park Tour with tour guide François on a snowy Saturday morning. François was an amazing tour guide teaching us to make photographs out of something that seems to be of no interest. He was very friendly and even reached out to help us after the tour; he taught us how to take pictures of rushing... More

Francais was a great teacher and guide. Good use of a spare afternoon on a business trip to get the see the picturesque part of The City while being taught the technical and artistic tips for taking a good picture of well known landmarks.

Français was a great guide and teacher through out NYC. Although we already had knowledge of our cameras he then was able to focus more on composition. ...... ..

Very good afternoon. Guided by Gildo we enjoyed the tour. Didn't do as many of the sights as I expected we stayed within in couple of blocks of the meeting place. The information and guidance was excellent with a lot of emphasis on perspective, which allowed you to work with the scenes presented in the city. Gildo taught us a... More

I did the SOHO photo tour with Francois who was excellent. He gave tips on how to make the most of the weather conditions (bright sunny day with harsh light). He taught me how to see things differently, to find interesting features in an everyday street scape, and "make something out of nothing". Thanks Francois. I hope to see you... More

Photo tour of SoHo with Francois was pretty amazing. I am a beginner at photography, so I was learning both the techniques and the artistic aspects. Francois was very helpful, patiently answering my questions and helping with manual camera settings and positioning. Combined with very knowledgeable narration about NY city history and architecture, this tour was truly unique NYC experience.... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
