A great way to spend an evening catching some great sights along the way. New York is gorgeous at night, all the lights and colour, it's live entertainment. I shoot on manual mode and am fairly comfortable with the basics of aperture, shutter speed and exposure. But I've never tried night photography before and I had recently purchased a tripod.... I knew within a minute of meeting Jean-Francois that I was going to love this tour. With his thick French accent he told me to switch my camera immediately to manual mode. This is the first day I shot entirely in manual! He had superb technical knowledge plus a very creative eye, and was entertaining and funny. We did the... More

I had the pleasure of a tour with Michael who combined his wealth of knowledge of photography with the history of New York to give great insight into the pictures I took. This gave added meaning to my pictures and made the tour even more of a pleasure than expected.

It was more a guided tour than a court of photo. We show us more the good places of Central Park than how to adjust its device either still, on which parameter to influence and why.

I did the night tour with Jean-Francois and the evening was surely one of the highlights of my trip! I take photos for 25 years and visited New York about 20 times, but that night I learnt to shoot completely new photos from my favorite town! Jean-Francois explained us some great techniques and fresh ways how to "see" the city.... More

Had an amazing time with Gildo, who I actually had all to myself. His expertise, enthusiasm and knowledge of the best spots to shoot in the city were priceless. I felt he was genuinely interested in helping me "see" the possibilities of night time photography and showed me a couple of tricks that I will most definitely use. A must... More

I had very limited time in NYC but wanted to see famous NYC sites, so landmarks tour was perfect which lasted 2 1/2 hours. We saw the Empire State Building, New York Post Office, Bryant Park, New York Public Library, Grand Central Terminal and Chrysler Building. Our guide, J-Francois was easy to talk to and was eager to share his... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
