I took the Manhattan night time safari and was lucky enough to be in a group with only one other photographer. Our guide Jean Francois was knowedgable, friendly, approachable and most of all creative. His enthusiasm shined through and he knew where to go to get some really different shots that will be so important in remembering my trip. Throroughly... More

The night tour with Jean Francois on the 17th July was truly excellent. His natural ability to guide us around this great city and use both his local knowledge and skills as a professional photographer were perfectly pitched to the abilities of our small group. Thank you Jean Francois for making it feel like a stroll around parts of the... More

This is the second year in a row that I've been able to go to NYC and this year I went on 2 Citifari Tours. Jean Francois was our guide for both the SOHO and the Central Park tours. The tours this year were every bit as enjoyable as the tours last year. Jean Francois was a great guide/host and... More

We did the photo tour of Central Park with Gildo. He was very knowledgable and really helped with framing the photographs and getting the best pictures possible. He was patient and went at a great pace. Highly recommend this photo tour!

Me and my husband took the night photography tour of Manhattan with Jean Francois. While my husband is experienced with photography, I, until that evening had never bothered to use any mode other than auto on my high end DSLR. Since then, however, I have become a big photography enthusiast. Jean was a wonderful guide, patient and fun, and we... More

I took both tours with Citifari Photo Tours, NYC Landmarks and Soho. Even though, I live in New York, this tour gave me an opportunity to see things different, in a very creative way. Also, I have just bought my DSLR camera and had many difficulties to figure out with all options in manual mode. Jean-Francois explained many things to... More

This was a gift from my hubby to inspire my own love of photography. It was a creative and fun experience as I learned even more about our beloved city and the Brooklyn borough, while shooting it. Jean was authentic in everything he shred with me, and he was genuinely present in sharing his expertise with me. I learned much... More

The guide was friendly enough but I was teamed with a French speaking beginner who had no clue about photography....lots of pausing and talking in French and very little guidance. Very basic level of guidance, composition only. No discussion of aperture, speed etc. Lots of running between traffic and not much else. Perhaps useful for a very basic amateur who... More

Ben, thank you for your review. First i would like to apologize for you not being 5* satisfied with your tour. As you may have noticed, it does not happen very often and we have less than 1% of average reviews (3* or less). We actually have only 2 of them including yours. Jean Francois is a semi-retired pro photographer... More

Gildo was friendly and informative. He gave us tips for group pictures with everybody's eyes open, zooming in more to capture what we want, how to use other object against building such as flag, light signal structure, and light coming through ceiling of the building. Another thing was fogging up the lens to make the picture dreamy. I did not... More

Hi Fuji, thank you for taking the time to write a review. As you know, apart from their actual experience, photographers do not have or need a degree to be excellent at their craft. In addition, we pay a lot of attention to selecting photographers that are: 1/ passionate about their craft 2/ can explain and communicate it simply 3/... More
