I am so happy I found Citifari while in NYC. I was not able to plan this tour very far in advance and they managed to schedule a tour that worked with my schedule on extremely short notice. The photographer was very knowledgable and did a wonderful job critiquing and giving pointers. The time flew by, I wish I had... More

If you want a way to see New York City AND take fabulous photos AND learn about local history and amazing spots - Oh! - and get a photography lesson as well - BOOK A CITIFARI tour. This is special. I have taken the Central Park tour and the Landmarks tour and (today) the Soho tour. Yes: I recommend this.

We went on this tour with my 13 year old who has an interest in photography. She enjoyed the tour and learned a lot from Francois who had a great knowledge of photography and the city. We spent about 2 - 2 1/2 hours walking and she took pictures of the Empire State Building from various viewpoints as well as... More

I was unlucky to attend to this tour on a rainy night. Because of the rain we didn't have a lot of time in each spot to explore and take pictures from different angles. But I got ver good tips from it. Gildo is very funny and a great artist photographer. I was looking for general tips on how to... More

We had a really fun morning with Gildo. Not only does he have a great eye of a native NY photographer, he knows everything about Soho and its history. We really appreciated his advice and tips in taking great photographs, also his fun way of guiding us into some of the most exclusive spots or helping us capture the unique... More

Great tour with Citifari with Jean- François on 28 May 2015. We really had great time with Jean-François and learn a lot of tips on night photography as well as key spots of New York. I really advise to book at the beginning of the visit in New York in order to put into practice the advises. Thank's Jean François.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed the photo tour and learned a lot. Our guide, Jean-Francois was an excellent photographer and being guided through busy, night-time New York to several fantastic, photogenic locations was amazing. The experience was let down by Jean-Francios telling me that my camera wasn't adequate to take some of the shots. I was disappointed as I had... More

I recently took the Citifari New York City Landmarks photo tour, and it was great! The photographer/guide was a wealth of information for both technical hands-on camera instructions, and various composition techniques. I learned a great deal while on this tour and took some awesome photos!! This tour was a just under 3 hours and almost 2 miles, so I... More

My guide Jean Francois was wonderful. He took me to several great locations and reviewed composition and camera settings so I could get the best, most creative shots. We would compare photos shot at the same location so he could show me how I could improve the settings or get a more creative composition. There was a lot of information... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
