It's big, it's bustling and it's packed with four floors of books. The Strand has grown in scale and brand since I first visited in the 90s, but I still find the experience pleasurable as both a buyer and seller of used books to the shop. A great source for fiction, history, art books and cookbooks. You'll also find Strand-branded... More

The Strand bookstore is one of those shops you could literally spend hours in. There are so many books on a whole raft of topics! I particularly loved the history section. Want a book on a President? You'll find it here. The front of the store is also home to a fantastic little gift-buying space. So many Strand-themed shirts and... More

The Strand book store is definitely a book lover's heaven with four floors of books in every category, plus extremely knowledgeable employees who go out of their way to help you. This bookstore is an heaven for booklover. It's huge, they have a lot of section, the newest books and some out of print hard to find alike, and a great staff team always helping you. You can bring back the experience with you with the totebags and mugs collection.

18 miles of used/rare/whatever literary goodness. From the upstairs with its rare and expensive books, to the $1 carts outside the store proper, there is something for every bookworm.

Great place to browse, and to meet authors. No visit to NYC is complete without visiting the Strand.

Our daughter is an avid reader and she fell in love with this place! They have books that are cheap and some expensive but all very reasonably priced. Also has a lot of nick nacks, etc! Huge!!!!!!!
