Everyone that works there is very friendly and helpful. My cousin had always heard about the people in NYC being rude. They are anything but rude. The only thing I didn't like was that almost all of their collections only go to size 12.

I was 'coaxed' there by the other half as she 'must have' a little brown bag. To be honest, a complete mystery to me, but it's not a bad place to visit other than the bag. It's essentially just a large department store. They offer a 10% discount to tourist visitors or, if you have an NYC Pass card, 15%.... More

The thought of a day's shopping filled me with dread, but after walking the length of 5th Avenue (several times) it was decided, by Royal decree, to head to Bloomingdales. For all you guys out there, it's actually pretty good! Plenty of variety, lots to see, you can get a coffee too... Prices are reasonable and it keeps her happy.... More

Very beautiful. A bit too expensive, but very big variety of choice. The stuff is really friendly and polite. Get ready to say goodbye to your money :)

Store greeter/ Concierge (sorry not sure of his title) was fantastic! Made our day, so friendly & informative. Large store little bit like John Lewis/ Frasers in UK from what we saw. Worth a trip even just to get the little brown bag!!

Spent hours shopping with my parents, helping them pick out sheets and towels. Staff members were extremely helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend a visit.

It does, except you feel overwhelmed by that matter. You wish you had more time and more money to buy it all. But as a tourist is frustrating to be able to buy limited items due to how little you can take on your flight :-p The downside is that it gets a bit to expensive for average people like... More

It's Bloomingdales and my wife really wanted to go; we went and even I was blown away from the sheer volume of what you can but there. The staff make it fun and we enjoyed our visit. Although caution; it's easy to spend a lot!

Whenever I am in NYC, Bloomingdales is always a stop. I spend most of my time in the fragrances/cosmetics area, then handbags and clothing. I lucked out this last time with a great find in the Marc Jacobs handbags.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
