I'm an Italian visitor to Bloomingdale's 59th Street store. I was there last July 14th, 2015, and I bought a sale item (Coach New York shoes) to be given to my niece for her 24th birthday. Having found the shoes I thought she liked, I told the shop assistant, a man, that I wanted a pair of them. After a... More

This store is amazing for their customer service. I also loved that they will ship your purchases home. There is also a subway stop in the bottom of the store. Amazing variety of items.

I prefer Bloomingdales to Macy's as I think it is easier better set out and easier to navigate. It also had better sales when we were there in June. There isn't much you can't buy here and if you are a Tourist, head to the Information desk to get your 10% discount card (which can be used in addition to... More

I live close to Bloomingdale's and I go there often. Very often I find a wonderful bargain on men's shirts, underwear, wallets, etc. They do lots of mark downs. Today I bought a beautiful shirt, Bloomingdale's brand. Had been really expensive but after a 50% reduction and several other reductions including one for using my Bloomingdale's card, I got the... Sometimes obviously a bit pricey, but I hit the summer sale and bought way too much! There's nothing you can't find here and they have my favorite designers, even the ones that other department stores don't. And I've never met anyone working here that wasn't extraordinary helpful!

We had a great time hunting for bargains on 4th July at the store. It surprised us how quiet it was - very few customers indeed. The sales staff were helpful in every way, even explaining a discount that we qualified for but of which we were unaware.

Impeccable but not stodgy service always when you enter. They will always have everything you are looking for and if they do not by chance have what you are looking for they will help you find it even if it is in another shop.

Everyone that works there is very friendly and helpful. My cousin had always heard about the people in NYC being rude. They are anything but rude. The only thing I didn't like was that almost all of their collections only go to size 12.

I was 'coaxed' there by the other half as she 'must have' a little brown bag. To be honest, a complete mystery to me, but it's not a bad place to visit other than the bag. It's essentially just a large department store. They offer a 10% discount to tourist visitors or, if you have an NYC Pass card, 15%.... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
