Waited in a short line to see the magical displays in the windows, with a fairy tale theme. Then on to watch the display on the building which runs almost continually. This is such a fine feat and well worth taking the time to look at in detail. If you love Christmas you'll love this annual display, which is a... More

Stopped by here after lunch and needed to get a last minute birthday present. It's a tall department store - 10 stories! Reminds me of the ones in Tokyo. The inside is posh, unlike say Macy's. Though I though the salespeople on the ground floor seemed to be touting their cosmetic wares quite aggressively

Having heard tonnes about Saks Fifth Avenue I decided to pop by when on holiday. It is a beautiful upbeat store with plenty of shopping to be done!

Every time I visit NYC, one of my first stops is always Saks, particularly Le Labo counter. That is where the magic happens. Any woman or man who wants to feel like a million bucks needs to spend a good hour or more in this glorious building. I felt refreshed after making my purchase.

I wouldn't usually write a review on a shop, but the customer service here was outstanding. Usually jeans shopping is a painful experience for everyone involved but the lady who helped me was just brilliant. She listened, knew all the product and brought out what I would call winners! The shoe department was the same. I dealt with 2 people... More

This store is gorgeous! They are pricey, but they have the major labels, the employees are very helpful, and they keep it in immaculate condition. The Christmas windows are a must if you are visiting over the holidays!

i'm a guy. i don't shop much. but even i know that this store is the Real McCoy. much, much better than the Bloomingdales on the 3rd Ave. i only stayed here for 30 minutes, but i let my daughter shop here for 2 hours. she could have stayed longer.

We got to see everything light up for Christmas. I recommend going later in the evening as the crowds are less. Be patient to get the photo you want and be prepared to be bumped in to almost constantly. Totally worthwhile!

My wife always enjoys seeing the latest looks in the designer showcase on the second floor - Akris, Max Mara, Piazza Sempione, and more!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
