Kim's has always had an incredible selection of music/videos/dvd's, but the employees are the rudest people. They seem to think they are ultra cool working at, what I would suppose is, a mimimum wage job. They tend to be young kids and extremely pretenious. This is an awesome record & video store, but I always have a bad experience with the employees, they are really snotty.

This is the best video store for anyone whose taste ranges from Spielberg to Pasolini. There are sections arranged up by director, by country of origin, by category (e.g., CULT.) They have a great selection of high quality children's films as well. And the rental prices are incredibly reasonable.

Carrying everything from mainstream Hollywood to the darkest, most obscure corners of international weirdness, Mondo Kim's Video is the single greatest video store I've ever been in. Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
