City Running Tours is a team of running enthusiasts that provides an opportunity to experience a city in an exciting way. We connect with like minded people from all over the world because of our passion for running as well as the city we call home. Through this reward, we are able to showcase the history and culture of a city while promoting a healthy lifestyle, instilling self confidence and making people feel like themselves. Ideal for the business traveler who is tired of the hotel treadmill, the marathon runner who is training for a race, or the recreational runner who wants to explore new and interesting routes, City Running Tours offers both guided group and personalized runs to accommodate any athletic ability, style, training regimen or specific landmarks. These runs are personal so it will be the running guide along with the registered clients. We can go further than a walking tour, as far as a bus tour and on the roads that most buses and segways are unable to.At City Running Tours our goal is to shape each tour based on our client's needs both as a runner and a tourist and because of this, they love the intimacy, breadth of knowledge, and the unique and local perspective that our running tours offer. Our clients experience a city at street level through the eyes and legs of someone who works, plays and runs in that city. Share your love of running with us as we share our city with you!

I'm currently training for a half marathon, so I did a 7 mile tour tonight around NYC with the coolest guide, Brett, tonight. He was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the city, and taught me so much about this gorgeous city as we did our run. It was like the best history and PE lesson rolled into one! Plus,... My three sisters and I visited New York and thought this would be a great way to explore some of the city. We chose the West Village tour but couldn't do it on the Wednesday when they normally do it, but were given an option to do it on Thursday. We were so impressed and would do this again in... More

I ran two runs with my guide, Coleman, during my stay in NYC. It was my first time doing anything like this while on vacation. I am in training for a marathon and wanted a fun, purposeful way to get in my miles while away. Both my runs were fantastic. They were well thought out routes that held my interest... More

Went on the Rockaway Brewery Running Tour and would absolutely recommend it to locals and tourists alike! I've been a resident of NYC for 5+ years so was excited to experience something new. I was surprised to learn quite a few things I didn't know about my own neighborhood. I even had some great conversation with some of the other... More

I booked a personalized running tour with City Running Tours for when I went to New York City. Words can't describe how unbelievable my experience was. I specified my distance in advance and included sights I wanted to make sure we hit along the route. The distance was exactly, 100% on point and everything I wanted to see was covered!... More

My wife and I took the "Culture Clash" run in the Lower East Side on 7/7/2015 at 7 AM. What we liked: connecting with other adventurous travelers and seeing parts of NYC we'd never explored before. There were 5 total people plus the guide. What we didn't like: Our guide showed up 5 minutes late and seemed sadly uninformed about... More

Hi Jeff, I am sorry the tour did not meet your expectations, and apologize your guide was late; being on time is of utmost importance to us. Our guides take pride in our city, and want to show you the best version possible (even if it is smelly - it's NYC in the summer!) As you know, our group tours... More

From Central Park to crossing over the Brooklyn Bridge, Catie was amazing at bringing the City alive with her history and personal stories during the run. This was my third time doing a running your in NYC but every time I am so thankful that I included this run in my day! Running through the streets bring the city alive!... More

Dina and Jill were very informative guides who took a group of us around the city. I enjoyed learning about some of the history of the neighborhoods we ran through, and it was fantastic to run over both the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges. I highly recommend it!

It was a very nice run with Coleman in NYC. We passed through grand central station and Bryant park before arriving at the water fountain in Central Park. Great fun :)

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
