City Running Tours is a team of running enthusiasts that provides an opportunity to experience a city in an exciting way. We connect with like minded people from all over the world because of our passion for running as well as the city we call home. Through this reward, we are able to showcase the history and culture of a city while promoting a healthy lifestyle, instilling self confidence and making people feel like themselves. Ideal for the business traveler who is tired of the hotel treadmill, the marathon runner who is training for a race, or the recreational runner who wants to explore new and interesting routes, City Running Tours offers both guided group and personalized runs to accommodate any athletic ability, style, training regimen or specific landmarks. These runs are personal so it will be the running guide along with the registered clients. We can go further than a walking tour, as far as a bus tour and on the roads that most buses and segways are unable to.At City Running Tours our goal is to shape each tour based on our client's needs both as a runner and a tourist and because of this, they love the intimacy, breadth of knowledge, and the unique and local perspective that our running tours offer. Our clients experience a city at street level through the eyes and legs of someone who works, plays and runs in that city. Share your love of running with us as we share our city with you!

I just loved my run with City Running Tours. I booked a solo venture, for which the price seemed more than reasonable. It's amazing that you can ask to see whatever you want to in the City, and your guide will tailor a route for you. I said I was interested in the immigration history of NYC around the Lower... More

First class experience from online booking to farewell at the hotel. Coleman promptly responded to emails, turned up bang on time, ran at the pace and distance requested and exceeded expectations, especially regarding his knowledge of the city. Enhanced my first visit to NY and was a perfect partner for a taper run for my up and coming marathon.

At first I thought my wife and I signed up for a real running event along with 100 of runners. I didn't really read the description from City Runners :-) but it all turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. We were 1 local guide and 3 on my team. Started the tour on 42nd by Bryant Park and... My 16 yr old daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our Lower Central Park running tour with Coleman on March 26, 2015. Although a bit cool and overcast, it was perfect for running. Coleman took us north on 8th to the Dakota building, pointing out other fascinating properties on the way, then we turned into the Strawberry Fields area. After winding... More

My 14 year old son and I had a great time. We got in a good 4-5 mile run at a leisurely pace. We learned much about Central Park that we did not know. We enjoyed the company and running narrative of our guide Beth. This is a unique way to enjoy NYC. I have been recommending it to all... More

We went for a running in Manhattan and Brooklyn on a bright, sunny morning after a snow storm. It's been a great and amusing experience. Our guide Brett, a kind engeneer from Oregon, explained us all about the most fancy buildings in the area and about the local culture.. We laughed a lot comparing differencies in habits.. It's been a... More

My wife booked this run as a treat for my 40th birthday. It's an amazing way to see the city and find out some history as you go. Would definitely recommend City running tours, and will look them up at other city's when I travel. Thank you Jill for a great tour.

We book a City Running Tour every time we visit New York. They are so much fun! We've done a private tour and ran across the Brooklyn Bridge and through lower Manhatten - done group runs on the Upper Eastside, Brooklyn and most recently Roosevelt Island. All have been one of the most memorable things we did on our visit... More

If you love to run and want to see NYC first hand. This is the only way to do it. My guide customized my run based on my training mileage and destinations I wanted to run by. I wanted to run the brooklyn bridge and we finished by tour by doing just that. She was very nice, informative & an... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
