It's recommended to start early and buy an all day hop-on hop-off pass. That's exactly what I did. The guides are funny and keep the visitors on-board engaged. The guides also share information on attractions in close proximity to each Pier. The water taxi ride offers great views of the skyline. Given the weather condition, one could consider sitting at... We got on at Battery Park and went all the way to Pier 79. Entertaining guide with a nice sense of humour. In fact other members of the crew answered a couple of our questions. Nice easy way to see the many sights along route, weather was good and like other reviewers we used our NYC pass.

We had a commentary from a local about the history of the buildings on the waterside which was good. Went from Pier 79 to 9/11 memorial & was a quick & easy way to travel.

We took this as we had the New York City pass and it came free and I am glad to say that it restored my faith in tour guides in NYC! The guide was well informed and very easy to listen to. It's a great way to see the city as you can hop on and off as you please.

We took the water taxi from pier 1 (Brooklyn bridge park) to pier 79 (Manhattan, west 39th street). We used our New York pass for the ride, but it would definitely be worth the money even if you don't have a pass. The ride was amazing, great view of the skyline and the taxi also went up to the Statue... More

Hi HenrikSRas. We apologize that you weren't given an explanation as to why the gates were closed. At many Piers we have multiple boats coming and going for different cruises as well as other companies using the Piers. One of our staff members walk the line to make sure everyone is in the appropriate place, so we apologize if you... More

We caught the water taxi from Pier 79 to Brooklyn, it was great fun, the onboard commentary was great. My travelling companion is blind and he really enjoyed the descriptions of the buildings and skyline and the little stories and jokes. We disembarked and walked back over the Brooklyn Bridge. The only downside was that we caught the last boat... More

My family and I opted to take the Water Taxi as it was part of our NY Pass. We have no regrets. It was by far the most memorable part of our trip...nothing beats seeing the NY skyline from the Water Taxi. And our guide, Patrick, was stellar! He was so informative and had so many stories. The rest of... More

Learnt so much during my ride on the boat. They share alot of interesting information about the various ports, boroughs and infamous people. Great way to see the city line and view the Statue of Liberty.
