We love Chinatown in Manhattan. However, the traffic was extremely bad. It took us 2 hours to get to the hotel in Times Square (Double Tree Suites), only 4 miles from Chinatown. The foods was great in Chinatown, but mostly they only accepted Cash for payment (no Credit Card). More

I've been to Chinatown a few times. It's very hectic and busy during the Summer, some areas smell like dead fish due to the amount of fish shops located there. It's a very busy place. More

It's a visit that will last no more than 30 minutes, I don't recommend eating here and the vendors are always inviting you inside their tents, avoid eye contact or you will be prompted to go and see their products. Safe area. More

When you visit Chinatown, and you should, make sure to travel down the smaller side streets off Mott. There you'll find the real stores where residents shop. See fish markets. Go into the grocery stores. Buy some lychees and coconut milk from street vendors. And go to Columbus Park, especially on a breezy, sunny day. It will be filled with... More

I've seen china towns in other cities in the U.S. (like San Francisco) and they attract people more for commerce and dining, but this area was like the slums and un-clean and smelt bad. Plus we overheard gangster people who lived nearby with menacing speech. But it was close to a great view of the Brooklyn bridge and was also... More

Love the restaurant, Vegetarian Dim Sum House. Best dim sum, and it tastes better than ones with meat. Love it. Chinatown has little jewels if you really look. You will find stores that sell all kind of tea, Thai ingredients in a Thai store, etc etc...just cultural bundle of joy. More

My wife loves coming here for the shopping options. If you can think of it, you can find it, whether in a store or back room. Some of the entertainment value is gone with recent crackdowns, but still go shopping and look for the back rooms just to see them. More
