I took two classes: the Nuts and Bolts class, where I learned all about how to use the manual controls on my camera; and the Times Square Night shoot, where I learned how to do night photography. I gained so much from both of these classes and was able to immediately put my lessons into practice when I got home.... More

1. Great Location - great learning while having fun 2. Small enough groups - so as to get personal and independent time with your camera 3. Expectations were communicated very clearly- this was a photography class, not a sight seeing tour 4. Kind teaching style - managed people well, rotated through the group equally 5. excellent opportunities for learning some... More

I have wanted to take an NYC Photo Safari for quite some time and am so glad that I finally had an opportunity. It will not be my last. The instructor was energetic, knowledgable and fun. She began with some photographer's basics and worked us through them so we could compose some interesting shots. There were five participants in the... More

Spending a day with Zim on a custom photo safari is a great method to improve your photography on different levels. Our aim of the safari was to improve our composition for travel photography. What impressed me with Zim was from the start she designed a safari based on our wishes with some pragmatic options to ensure we got the... More

I went on the Madison Square Park Photo Safari and had such a great experience! My camera is still really new to me and this safari was perfect in teaching me how to use the basic functions. It also helped me understand photo composition and how to look at things different. I highly recommend this safari and plan on going... More

This was a very informal class to learn how to take better pictures of your child. Thankfully my son cooperated. It was very helpful - in a short time I learned a lot about how to better compose a shot, using available light and some other interesting techniques. It's also another way to have your baby interact with other children.

My son and I did the Madison Park class and both loved it. Zim was great - she presents new concepts on how to become a better photographer and then she challenges you to test yourself (sometimes over & over, until you get it). I picked up some new skills (composition and technical) that made a difference in the remainder... More

As a fledgling photographer wannabe, with a point and shoot camera, Zim was encouraging, with clear instruction and practical advice, along with a great, dry sense of humour! She challenged us to look and REALLY see what we wanted to capture. I'm looking forward to more essence and less filler!!!! Thanks for a great experience Zim! Charmaine

I’ve taken 2 NYC Photo Safaris now, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed both. Not only that, but I’ve seen a definite improvement in my skills. So far I’ve done the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Madison Square Park safaris. Zim was the instructor for both, and she’s great. Very friendly and encouraging, and also very knowledgeable. I highly recommend taking... More
