We took the BUC tour with our family, including two teenage boys. Everyone had a marvelous time. Tim is engaging and regaled us with intimate and interesting stories. I loved the historic photos that Tim displayed on his iPad to give additional perspective. He loves the history of the theater district and we can't wait to go back and take... More

Tim did an amazing job telling us about the history of the theaters and theater district-not the boring stuff, but the really interesting stories! His pictures were great and he was a fantastic guide. We will definitely be back for Act II next year!

Broadway Up Close is not only an historical tour of the theatre district and all of its ghosts but also the history of New York City and its ever changing landscape. My group was lucky enough to get the creator and owner of the company Tim Dolan as our tour guide and it was incredible! We spent the whole time... More

Tim was our guide for Act II. I am a returnee from Act I, and I was not disappointed--Tim gave us history, insider experiences, great anecdotes and fascinating background. Plus he is clever and witty. My husband is not the Broadway fan that I am, but he loved the history of New York and the business background of theatre production.... More

Our guide was Michael, and he was incredibly well versed in all things broadway and theatre. He knew about every show and really seemed to enjoy guiding us. We made our way from theatre to theatre with tales of construction, greed and ghosts. This was well worth the price and a great time.

A must do for everyone visiting the theatre district. Background on theatres, producers, shows, Times Square - stuff you never knew but is integral to how Broadway became Broadway. Gives you a whole new perspective on theatre in NYC today. DON'T MISS THIS TOUR. IT'S THE BEST.

I have spent my career in the theatre industry and thought I knew plenty about Broadway history. I have now been on both Act I and Act II walking tours with Tim Dolan. Tim is a walking encyclopedia of Broadway, from the producers and celebrities to the architecture, to the ghost stories! Tim is charming, has a great sense of... More

Entertaining, Enlightening, Exciting. Don't miss taking a BUC Tour! I thought, how much would I learn...after all, I have a Ph.D. in Theatre Education. Well, there's a lot to gain from going on these tours. Besides Tim's research and personable delivery of the inside information, I was delighted to "see" the theater in a whole new light. You will, too.... More

I have worked in the Broadway industry as a talent agent and producer for the last five years. I have been a devoted fan and theatergoer for the last twenty. Living in the city I am at the theater almost every night of the week. I was looking forward to the Broadway Up Close walking tour, but never expected the... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
