I could not possibly give a higher recommendation! I contacted Broadway Up Close at 7 Pm on a Tuesday upon forgetting to set up the tour in advance. By 9 am Wednesday, my son and I were touring Broadway with a friendly, knowledge a guide - a true member of the Broadway theater scene. The staff made arrangements on incredibly... More

Tim was phenomenal! Our group of four women thoroughly enjoyed the walking tour this past weekend. Tim was so friendly, funny, knowledgeable of all aspects of Broadway and so enthusiastic that it was a truly fun and interesting experience. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who likes the theater, and there is not a lot of walking so... More

We had an excellent tour with Tim. My two teenage daughters who are heavily involved in high school theater thought it was one of the most fun things they did on our New York trip. Tim really knows his stuff and you can tell he has spent a great deal of time researching to get to that point. We loved... More

This tour seriously blew me away. My expectation was one hour and 45 minutes of regurgitated facts about "then and now" Broadway stars and the shows they appeared in. Fortunately, I was wrong. This tour was not only filled with theatre stories, but also, historical stories that made New York what it is today. From ghost lamps to Jumbo the... More

We had such a GREAT time with Tim on the Broadway Up Close Walking Tour! His knowledge and history of Broadway was so evident as well as entertaining. He kept our group of 12 (ages 11 to 67) completely engaged for almost 2 hours! He personalizes his information based on the shows that you have seen and gives such great... More

We had a blast seeing a couple Broadway shows on this trip, but the Broadway Up Close tour we went on with Tim gave a whole new dimension to our experience! He gave us the insider's perspective, answering tons of the questions we had about life as a Broadway performer, and relaying the histories, ghost stories, and why-is-that's about all... More

My brother and I planned a surprise birthday trip for my mom to NYC. We all love Broadway, and this tour was a must do for us. We very much appreciated the ability for Tim to schedule us at the last minute and take us out on a very cold day. The experience was fascinating and fun and Tim's love... More

My daughters and I really enjoyed the BUC tour! Tim was enthusiastic and knowledgable about Broadway theaters and shows. We all found the history of the Broadway theaters so interesting especially with the old pictures. The inside information about actors and understudies, and the ghost stories were all great. We want to go on the rest of the tours too.... More

These are working actors sharing their passion and knowledge- make the time for this! The guides share information about the theaters today and the history of many days past, plus what each of them have done- auditions, training, and crazy experiences- where you change in this theater, what stagehands think of that one... it's a great experience. Tim will work... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
