I knew this would be an interesting tour from reading the reviews but I didn't expect the the high level of customer service this company provides. I called last minute to book Act I and spoke to Tim directly, he asked a lot of questions on my interests in Broadway, found out I was a long time Les Miz fan... More

Broadway Up Close offers the best inside look at Broadway we've ever experienced. We have taken many tours and different kinds of Broadway tours but this, by far, was the best one we've taken. It provides a real insider's view of how Broadway works. Tim, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Not only does he have first hand... More

My mom, 10 year old daughter, and myself all loved this tour! Even though it was a cold and rainy day, we still had a great time. The guide was very engaging, was willing to answer ANY question, and all the information was very interesting! We all especially enjoyed the ghost stories. Our guide was also very good about modifying... More

What a lovely time! Highly recommend this tour. John our guide was friendly, professional and very informative. We were a family of four including young adults, 25 and 22, John kept us all fully engaged and entertained throughout the entire tour. We'll be sure to book for Act II the next time we travel to NYC!

Tim, the owner, was incredibly helpful in arranging a tour to fit our schedule. We were last minute but he made sure it worked for us and we're so glad he did. Ben, the guide, was fun and extremely knowledgable. We learned about the theatre's history and some of its fascinating characters, as well as some of the city's history.... More

Our tour guide John was friendly, knowledgeable, and ready to meet us with hand warmers on a cold day, which was a treat! We learned so much about the theater district, various theatres, and shows, and it made all the shows we saw that weekend have a deeper context to them. The stories and histories were excellent. There is not... More

I could not possibly give a higher recommendation! I contacted Broadway Up Close at 7 Pm on a Tuesday upon forgetting to set up the tour in advance. By 9 am Wednesday, my son and I were touring Broadway with a friendly, knowledge a guide - a true member of the Broadway theater scene. The staff made arrangements on incredibly... More

Tim was phenomenal! Our group of four women thoroughly enjoyed the walking tour this past weekend. Tim was so friendly, funny, knowledgeable of all aspects of Broadway and so enthusiastic that it was a truly fun and interesting experience. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who likes the theater, and there is not a lot of walking so... More

We had an excellent tour with Tim. My two teenage daughters who are heavily involved in high school theater thought it was one of the most fun things they did on our New York trip. Tim really knows his stuff and you can tell he has spent a great deal of time researching to get to that point. We loved... More

This tour seriously blew me away. My expectation was one hour and 45 minutes of regurgitated facts about "then and now" Broadway stars and the shows they appeared in. Fortunately, I was wrong. This tour was not only filled with theatre stories, but also, historical stories that made New York what it is today. From ghost lamps to Jumbo the... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
