I went to visit some friends in NYC last weekend and they recommended this tour. Having seen several shows and growing up on theater, I was all for it!! My boyfriend took a little convincing, as he is no theater buff. HOWEVER, I can honestly say he probably enjoyed the tour even more than I did because of all the... More

I've lived in New York City 6 years and work in theatre and entertainment. I decided to do the tour for fun and was blown away the history I did not know. I highly recommend this tour and can't wait to walk Act 2 and 3 with Tim.

The tour was fantastic! I'd recommend it to anyone. Our guide was Tim, the owner of the company, and he was very approachable, friendly, funny, open to any questions and knowledgeable. After you take the first tour, which they call Act I, they have Act II and Act III. I'm definitely interested in taking the rest of the tours!

My friend and I were in NYC for a few days seeing as many Broadway shows as our budget and time would allow. He is a major Broadway buff and hard to impress in general so I was nervous that he wouldn't have a good time. But I had nothing to worry about because we both loved it! My friend... More

My daughter and I went on the "Act I" tour and it was fantastic! I think that the title of my review really sums it up...we had such a great experience on the tour. Tim led our tour and there wasn't a question that he couldn't answer. He was funny, engaging and so knowledgeable. It was obvious that he's done... More

Tim is great and knowledgeable tour guide, the Act 1 tour is great mix of both NYC and theater history. A great time for any theater buff.

My 17 year old son and I had the pleasure of experiencing Broadway Up Close with Tim Dolan. Our private tour was fabulous and we learned so much about theater history and Broadway. It was facsinating to us as true theater enthuiasts. Tim was a great tour guide, so knowledgeable about this part of NYC, and going the extra mile... More

Here's proof this is not a "canned", mundane tour. Took my 13-year old grand-daughter for a private tour as part of her first Broadway experience. Our guide & company owner, Tim Dolan, went out of his way to ask what show we were seeing and then modified the tour to give us great insight, pictures and info about what we... More

Facts, fun & the scoop on some of Broadway's grand theaters. As a performer in local community theatre, it was a great couple of hours to gain insight into how these great performing venues came to be and continue to evolve. (Wait til you hear the story of the AMC Empire theaters building!) Tim, our tour guide, was extremely engaging... More

I just experienced one of the best attractions NYC has to offer! Broadway Up Close Walking Tours is a fun, interactive, informative experience for all! I am an aspiring actor, and while I know some theater trivia, there is always more to learn. Cary, our guide, was very knowledgable and energetic. I learned so much from him about the city... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
