We stumbled upon these tours by coincident on Google and went on two tours in New York. 1: Harlem Gospel Tour with guide Lady Altovise! Absolutely charming and informative guide with so much soul! We really enjoyed the company and was very interesting to hear about the history of Harlem! Lady Altovise was very clear and easy to understand, with... More

9 of us joined Onel's tour on Sunday the 7th and had a fabulous tour. Onel was super knowledgeable and very entertaining. As a native of New York actually visiting now with my husband's family, I can't believe how much I learned too! I would recommend this to locals and out of towners!

Lady Altovise led a very informative and engaging tour through Harlem, offering insights into the community, buildings, social conditions and progress, and introducing us to people and small businesses along the way. Her personality and charms that included stories, dancing and singing added all manner of delight. We recommend this tour and suggest it's not to be missed. We will... More

We had a great and funny guide when we did the little italy & China town tour. His juicy new york accent and loud, clear, forest whitakerian voice made him a pleasure to listen to. 75% of the tour consisted of historical facts, with some added personal anecdotes and fun facts (like which celebrities live(d) in this area). It was... More

Third time I have used these tours, 1st being London. Knowledgable and friendly tour guide, (Mar). Great way to learn about the city and street art, graffiti culture. Also neighborhoods and history. Little pressure, clean instructions on where to meet. Great experience without the tourist marketing.

Did the one day tour with Garrett on a cold Tuesday, the guide made the tour. He's a quirky woody allen type a little eccentric and full of life. I think anyone else doing this tour and i may have skipped at lunch cause it was cold and i wasn't wrapped up enough, but his knowledge, little quips and over... More

We took the Brooklyn tour with Onel on the 26 January. Tour started at City Hall and we headed over Brooklyn Bridge and then toured the different parts of Brooklyn. Onel was very knowledgable and friendly and the tour was very interesting. If we are lucky enough to return to NYC will definitely do some more of these tours.

Our guide Onel gave us a great tour of the area using his humor and extensive knowledge of New York. The walking was easy and group of visitors from four continents most friendly. It was a highlight of our New York trip.

Free Tours by Foot is a “name your own price” tour company in New York City (and a few other large US cities) and offers free walking tours all over Manhattan and many parts of Brooklyn. The tours are “free” but the guides work for tips. This Company requires you to make reservations (and the guide checks you off in... More

Our guide Onel was great!!! We had an amazing experience with a local and enjoyed it very much. We loved it!!! Our teen daughters enjoyed it also very much. Onel guided us through incredible places and views, which we had never found alone.

Staying in Little Italy

Neighborhood Profile
Little Italy
While Little Italy is one of the city's smallest neighbourhoods, its streets are packed with visitors from around the globe, especially on summer weekends when the streets are closed to traffic. Stroll up Mulberry Street, the heart of Little Italy, for a dense mix of Italian restaurants with sidewalk tables, cafes, and old-school food shops. Don’t be surprised when the hosts beckon you to pay them a visit. Stop in for a coffee and a cannoli, or grab a streetside table to take in the scenery over a hearty Italian meal.
