Several years ago, my daughter booked us on a half-day NYSee Tour, hosted by Fred. It was our first time in New York and it was a great way to see many parts of the city to determine exactly where you want to spend more time later. We explored many neighborhoods, all with their own unique personality. Since that first... More

Our family enjoyed the private walking tour with Fred. We had not been to NYC before, so it was the perfect way to learn our way around the city, see some of the sights and get a feel for how we wanted to spend our remaining time in the city. Fred was very helpful and provided practical tips for navigating... More

I am an amputee who walks on SideStix forearm crutches. Fred was accommodating to my pace and took our small group of three through the history and back stories of the areas we wanted more information about-Lower East side immigration, Soho, Greenwich Village, Chelsea. I wasn't feeling well on the day we planned, so Fred agreed to another day. He... More

NYC can be overwhelming but touring it with Fred made it feel like it was my neighborhood. Fred bring flexibility, life time knowledge, humor and historical fun facts to a 4 hour walking tour that i could have continued for another hour or two. It didn't hurt that he has a great sense of humor and took a few pictures... More

My husband and I spent four hours on a private walking tour with Fred. We had a wonderful time and Fred was the best! Very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. We highly recommend booking a tour with NYSee - WELL worth it!

Fred is a wonderful guide & took us on a great tour of the Xmas lights in Dyker Heights and NYC. He was flexible and found a quick stop for food as well. He knows the area and gave us great history and information (even for the ex-New Yorkers in our group). He customized the tour based on our needs... More

Our family of 6 took a wonderful private tour with Fred last night to see the incredible Dyker-Heights Christmas Lights. It was even more special than when I first saw it on TV. These people in this Italian neighborhood really go all out. In addition, Fred took us to the Brooklyn esplanade where we saw the most incredible views you... More

We had an all-time great adventure with Brooklyn Jim on the tour he and Fred customized for us based on our suggestions and their extensive knowledge of Greenwich Village and NYC. Eight of us (guys and gals) were in town for a conference and typically we'd go out for dinner and drinks, but we took a chance with NYSee Tours... More

This is the second tour we have done with this company. The most recent was a 5 hour walking tour with "Brooklyn Jim". Because it was only ourselves and our friends (4 in total) we were asked what we most wanted to see and Jim customized the tour to our preferences. How awesome is that! I have read some not... More

My wife and daughter were going to be in New York with a group and wanted to see some New York highlights. My wife found the NYSee Tours website and contacted Fred regarding a personal walking tour for herself, my daughter, and three friends. Fred was prompt to return her call and discussed possible itineraries. He was very professional, pleasant... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
