What a fun afternoon of chocolate

We met our tour guide, Candy, at the City Bakery where she gave the history of hot chocolate and a taste of the best hot chocolate I have ever had. The tour only got better and... read more

We met our tour guide, Candy, at the City Bakery where she gave the history of hot chocolate and a taste of the best hot chocolate I have ever had. The tour only got better and better as we "tasted" our way from the West Village to the East Village. Each stop was very different from the others and the... More

What a great way to spend 3 hours in New York. Bert, our guide, was fantastic. Not only did he care for the group but also took the time to tailor the tour through the Village. I highly recommend the New York Food Tours to anyone who visits New York and wants a real experience. Would have paid double!

This is an excellent way to spend a few hours in NYC no matter what the weather. This was my second tour, and I enjoyed it even more than the first. You are guaranteed not to leave hungry. Our guide was funny, knowledgeable and providing enough personal anecdotes so to make us feel we were being given a tour by... More

We thought Josh was amazing and led us down a path that was educational and fun. He took us into places that we never would have tried, and what a great treat. We learned about the neighborhood, and the way it grew. We were slow on this tour, and stopped several times for picures and to talk, and Josh was... More

This is our second time doing a Chinatown tour and it is worth every penny. We had a tour guide that grew up in the area and really loved talking about the foods we ate and the history of Chinatown. We sampled dumplings, teas, buns, dim sum, bahn mi sandwiches (absolutely yummy!) and then stopped off for bubble tea before... More

I got my girlfriend and I tickets to the Chinatown Dim Sum tour. We were the only two to sign up for the tour that day, as it was rainy and just after New Year's. Nevertheless, they provided a guide for just the two of us. Candy was friendly and knowledgeable. We sampled a wide variety of food and were... More

So glad we decided to do this tour on NYE while visiting NYC. We enjoyed the delicious food samples we were introduced to through this tour. Our awesome tour guide, Candy, took us to places we definitely would not have found nor chosen on our own. She gave us historical information, as well, that we would not have learned just... More

I am so happy that I joined the New York Food Tours today which gave me a wonderful tasting of an array of NY food in the West side of the city. From authentic Italian appetiser Aracini (deep fried rice balls with creamy and cheesy risotto inside), grilled cheese, Falafel (mid East flavour), the best pizza in town, to the... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
