My wife and I met our guide Cory at Grand Central Station and he led us and about 25 others to the subway and then to the great places in the East Village where we had various dumplings, pizza-unlike any you have probably had before, hot dogs of various kinds, outrageous cupcakes and sweets to die for..All were inexpensive and... Participated in the Ultimate New York Food and Culture Tour (Greenwich Village)in 2015 and the Exotic Southeast Asian and China Food Tour (Chinatown) in 2013. Loved both tours - especially the Chinatown one.

Great fun in Greenwich Village. My wife and I consider ourselves unofficial foodies and decided to go on the Greenwich Village food and culture tour. When we went to book our tour we found that most had only 1 spot left so decided to call and see if they could help. Zerve their booking agent told me to call their... More

I have been on 12 different food tours in the US, Canada and the UK. The East Village food tour was similar to many of them with a focus on the ethnic food in this neighborhood. I always enjoy walking through a new area and exploring what it has to offer. Our guide Candy was very knowledgeable about the area.... More

Our group of 6 really enjoyed our Heart of the Village Food tour. The variety of foods was excellent as well as the quality. The cultural information was also really interesting. It was about 3.5 hours long, but I think could have been closer to 2.75 hours. Other then that we had an excellent experience. Well worth the money, we... More

My girlfriend and I did the East Village food and drink guided tour. Our guide Josh was friendly, insightful and knowledgeable of the area. We visited several eateries each with their own unique flavour. We Samer a little bit of many cultural foods and each of the were enjoyable and would be worth visiting by themselves. The tour it's self... More

I booked the East Village Food Tasting and Culture Tour as a surprise for some out of town guests, and it was a HUGE hit. Our tour guide Josh was friendly, knowledgeable, and really made the tour feel like a personalized experience. You can tell he loves his job as a tour leader, we had a fun time and learned... More

My daughter and I attended the food tour on May 16th, 2015. We had a wonderful time. The food was great and the tour guide was fantastic! He was able to provide a ton of information about the stops along the way. I would highly recommend it!

We had a fantastic time touring through the East Village with our guide Candy. She introduced us to numerous little restaurants and a wide variety of different foods. Such an eccletic and diverse neighborhood. All of the food was really tasty, everything from the Ukrainian pirogues, tacos, falafel, Asian noodles, Italian canollis, and French/Japanese eclairs to end.

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
