As one of the few NY pubs to show soccer regularly I was relying on them to show the recent Hearts Vs Hibs match. As it was on at 8.15am on a Sunday morning I tweeted to check they were open. They said they were. Sunday morning arrives, as did I at 8am, having got up at 6.30am to get... More

For American born soccer fans, Nevada Smiths has always been a special place. It still has heart with contending fans at big games and the knowledge that you can get a good draft and talk and view football with like-minded fans. But in its move from second to third avenue, it has also transformed into a commercial feeling sports bar... More

I visited this place to watch a game and very impressed to see they have 4 floor with TV and big screens. So we stayed on the main floor to watch the game but almost started the game the entire floor was packed so we went to the lower level where we found a small bar with chairs and TV's.... More

We went here to watch an end of season premiership match. With different matches on both upstairs and downstairs and opposing fans making the most of the tension it made for a great mornings viewing. With alcohol on tap this is a great venue for footie fans when in NY

I watched the Liverpool/Manchester match this past Sunday. Had a great breakfast and watched the game on one of their huge screens. Had a great visit.

We headed here to watch an early morning soccer match and as we entered - a moody looking doorman sneered "keep him close to you and no running around" - clearly addressing my 10 year old son. I presumed I'd misheard him - he sounded so unwelcoming - so I asked him to repeat what he said. He did and... More

Visited here to watch a match whilst on a weekend to NYC - the place had been recommended by fellow fans in the UK. It didn't disappoint. Good range of beers and although the menu was fairly restricted - the food was good. We'll done to Johnny and the rest of the staff!

In general, I'm a big fan of American sports bars on football weekends. This is the single worst bar I have ever set foot in. After arranging to meet friends on NFL divisional playoff weekend, we were looking forward to watching a couple of games, some typical American bar junk food, and having a couple of beers. All pretty regulation... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
