We've been to the Village several times and love it. It's a great place with excellent restaurants, wonderful little shops and bars. The atmosphere is laid back and a perfect place on sunny days for sitting in the park. Definitely a place to visit and spend some time.

We rented an apartment in Greenwich Village for 2 weeks. First time in NYC and our highlight was the Village with all it's little bars, great restaurants and quirky shops. Best choice for travelling with two teenage girls - we felt very safe and the metro made it easy to travel all over NYC. Definitely will stay in Greenwich Village... More

The Village has it all. Charming streets, many excellent restaurants and shops. Every thing you would want is here. I have lived in the Village and always found it an extremely interestingg place to just walk around and enjoy the atmosphere.

Greenwich is nice enough but I really do not know what all the fuss is about. I lived in NY for 6 months and attended college here, so walked through the place daily. It is great if you are heading somewhere specific or want to meander through individual shops, which are not really worth visiting. There are some good pubs... More

CBGB's you talk about punk rock, Cro Mags, the MisFits you talk about bands like Blondie, the Beastie Boys, Devo, the Ramones, the B'52's, Joan Jett and the Black Hearts, Talking Heads,Patti Smith, Mink Deville. Some great bars and restaurants away from the main city centre. do your research before you go and check out some of the many bars and restaurants in this area. A short inexpensive cab ride from mid-town will take you into an area where you can explore an alternative nightlife and not break the budget.

Greenwich Village is not like the Village of the sixties. It character has significantly changed over the ensuing decades. I t has evolved into a different type of area. The Village is still an interesting place to visit. To see the different areas of the Village, plan an entire day and into the evening visit. The West Village is where... More

I love New York; the people, pace, food even the driving...walking through Greenwich Village was a blast...I had a wonderful time: from the independent shops to designer one-offs to the jewellery stores and finally restaurants. ..what's not to like?

We took an enjoyable work down Bleeker Street and went down Bedford Street to see the narrowest house in NYC. The homes are so quaint you can't believe you are in Manhattan. The bakeries and Italian deli/butcher were all crowded with locals. People were friendly and gave directions. Stopped for a drink and appetizer at Palma, very enjoyable. Then found... More

Lacking in imagination, needing renovation and somewhat uninspiring. Walk through if you're passing by, if not you're missing nothing
