We saw the village by accident as was on a Grayline bus when the man doing the talk said Johns pizza shop was the best in New York so we got off and went for a meal. It was lovely and we got the chance to look around too

There was a band playing and people dancing in Washington Square. It was nice walking through the streets.

With just a quick ride on one of the blue line trains, you find yourself in a trendy area with lots of cultures! We had pizza at an organic pizza Italian restaurant! Would go here again, any day!

Greenwich Village is always amazing. Any day, any month, every year. The eclectic mix of people and interesting shops and small little restaurants make it special. Window shopping is fun here. I like shopping & dining in the Village and Soho more than Midtown.

A very friendly and interesting area - especially after being in mid-Manhattan where no one had time for you. Restaurants and coffee shops abound and window shopping in galleries was a joy. Next time I shall try and stay in this area rather than Chelsea.

We walked around the neighborhood a bit. It is quite a mix of eclectic stores with major retail giants (was very surprised to see K-Mart on our subway corner). We enjoyed our time in Washington Park

I lived strolling around this neighbourhood. It has a lot of healthy food shops and cute cafes with great looking food and drinks. When we were walking through Washington square there was a guy randomly (and beautifully) playing a piano. Such a great area to visit!

Greenwich Village is where NYU is located, you see many university people, old buildings, cool stores, artists, bars, restaurants (all kinds). I'd say this is the diversity place for anyone who likes unusual and personality. Definitly recomend stopping by. GV is near Wall Street, Chelsea Market, Macy's, Empire State. Really loved the place!

Leafy lanes, friendly stoops, history, culture art...unfortunately this part of New York has become more about Marc Jacobs than Jane Jacobs, and there are dozens of expensive boutiques lining the streets, but the thing that made it amazing back in the day it was full of jazz musicians and artists huddling over their coffees in shabby cafes -- that magical... Our tour guide Mike was wonderful right from the start. I liked the way he took just seconds to personally greet each tourist while we were waiting to get started. Makes for a great connection. You can telll he's passionate about his job, he made the effort to add some extras. He had Bob Dylan's album cover to show us,... More
