We spent a day there strolling around the pretty streets, stopping for breaks in little cafes. Really loved Greenwich Village. more

It has been years since I've been in Greenwich Village, but timing helps make the difference. We never had to compete with crowds (busy but not overcrowded). I would plan and use a map before going to ensure you don't miss anything. This is a fun, lively place. The jazz club was a lot of fun (real, live, true entertainment... more

If you visit Greenwich do enter via Washington Square. rooted deep in history it attracts free entertainment in a tranquil setting. The Square is due to imminent change much to the annoyance of many locals but presently it leads to many bars and restaurants. A short walk takes you through Soho and onto the really lovely and lively Little Italy... more

I walked around Manhattan rather then take a tour bus. I found Greenwich the gem of Manhattan. Walk throught the streets and take a turn on to Union Sq and the Farmers market for a break. Loved it! more

What a delightful neighborhood! Walking down the tree lined streets was a lovely experience and seemed a world away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the city. OK, so I just HAD to eat a cupcake at Magnolia Bakery (it was delicious!) and get my picture made in front of "Carrie's" apartment! Even apart from that, it... more

Just got back from a NY New Year's trip and one of the best days was our day in the "The Village". A really Cool, relaxing and fun place to spend the day walking around. You never know what you will bump into around the corner. Had a fantastic Italian Meal at Focacceria's on MacDougal St that was recommended and... more

we loved it here so much that we stayed here the next time, and have booked our next trip in the village... not touristy, a taste of what life would be like to live here... you must check murrays cheese (best cream cheese ever!), eat at cowgirl, Johns Pizza and soak it all up... more

We spent an hour or so in Greenwich Village (with a Big Apple Greeter) and I wish we'd had more time. This really is the 'real' New York and the heart and soul of proper NYC living. Our hotel was near Broadway so visiting Greenwich Village was an oasis away from the hectic (and sometimes vile) 'tourist trap' of the... more

I think this is my favorite area of Manhattan. I could have spent days wondering around. So different from the rest of the city. It amazed my how quiet it was. I loved the tree lined streets. Found the Friends' building and also went on the SATC, a lot of the show was filmed in the village. more

We wanted to see Greenwich Village for the first time, have real NY pizza, had no idea where to start. We booked a walking food tour at http://www.foodsofny.com/greenwichvillage.php, and it was the best. Tried all kinds of food, were told all kinds of history, culture, saw great buildings, the tour guide MIchael was friendly and very Greenwich educated. We visited... more
