What a delightful neighborhood! Walking down the tree lined streets was a lovely experience and seemed a world away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the city. OK, so I just HAD to eat a cupcake at Magnolia Bakery (it was delicious!) and get my picture made in front of "Carrie's" apartment! Even apart from that, it... more

Just got back from a NY New Year's trip and one of the best days was our day in the "The Village". A really Cool, relaxing and fun place to spend the day walking around. You never know what you will bump into around the corner. Had a fantastic Italian Meal at Focacceria's on MacDougal St that was recommended and... more

we loved it here so much that we stayed here the next time, and have booked our next trip in the village... not touristy, a taste of what life would be like to live here... you must check murrays cheese (best cream cheese ever!), eat at cowgirl, Johns Pizza and soak it all up... more

We spent an hour or so in Greenwich Village (with a Big Apple Greeter) and I wish we'd had more time. This really is the 'real' New York and the heart and soul of proper NYC living. Our hotel was near Broadway so visiting Greenwich Village was an oasis away from the hectic (and sometimes vile) 'tourist trap' of the... more

I think this is my favorite area of Manhattan. I could have spent days wondering around. So different from the rest of the city. It amazed my how quiet it was. I loved the tree lined streets. Found the Friends' building and also went on the SATC, a lot of the show was filmed in the village. more

We wanted to see Greenwich Village for the first time, have real NY pizza, had no idea where to start. We booked a walking food tour at http://www.foodsofny.com/greenwichvillage.php, and it was the best. Tried all kinds of food, were told all kinds of history, culture, saw great buildings, the tour guide MIchael was friendly and very Greenwich educated. We visited... more

This was my second trip to New York, but the first time I never got the Greenwich Village or Chelsea area. That was silly! This area (as with so many parts of Manhattan) has it's own unique feel to it, and is miles away from the hustle and impersonality of Midtown. Narrow streets, lots of creativity everywhere, a whole street devoted... more

We absolutely loved Greenwich village, walked around the little streets, they are so cute. saw some buildings that have been used in TV shows like friends and s&x and the city. I would love to live in one of those buildings on a tree lined street and get up every morning and walk around Greenwich village and say i live here.... more

Greenwich Village, or ‘The Village,’ is not only a mecca for creative people, but also for young people and students. The streets of the Village are a great place to walk around. You’ll get the feeling of a small town. Walk by little bakeries and smell the fresh baked pastries. Do you like the vintage clothing stores? There are plenty... more

We wanted to see Greenwich Village but didn't know where to start. We decided on the Walking and Food Tour of Greenwich Village. This was a really wonderful way to see Greenwich Village, we learned much about the history and culture of this neighborhood. Everything we tasted was wonderful, our guide was friendly as were the people with us on... more
