This store carries, shells, skulls, rocks, charms, animal teeth, skeletons, tonnes of anatomy related merchandise, and really, much, much more. It was strange seeing some of the things they carried, but it was also quite the experience to see some of these things in a store in the first place. I would advise international travellers to double check what they... More

Found this shop by chance 10 years ago and alaways return when we visit...Never been to anywhere quite like it.....Lots of spiders and alligator heads....it's not for everyone but children will love it...very educational..It's 5 minutes walk of little Italy and in a lovely area...Make the effort and visit..

I have never been into a store like this before. I was amazed by all of the artifacts within and spent over an hour trying to take in everything they have to offer. The jewelry is unique and interesting. A must see in SOHO

No other store like this, must see to believe. My kids were intrigued for over an hour. If you can't make it to the store in SOHO, go to their kiosk at FAO Schwarz.

I enjoyed walking through this small, but unique store. There are tons of species. I bought about 25 lollipops to take home for the neighbor hood children. $2-$4 each.

A friend recommended this stop and I could not get my science-obsessed 18 year old out of there! Prepare to be amazed if looking at actual human skeletons (including fetus and conjoined twins), preserved bugs and butterflies, stuffed deer heads and tiger rugs is your idea of a good time. On the tamer side they have beautiful geodes and ancient... More

Recently visited NYC from the UK and popped into Evolution - I love this store and try and go whenever I visit the area. Although it's not going to be to everyones taste I find it mesmerising, intresting and intriguing and there's always something I would like to buy. The real framed butterflies are beautiful and there's some lovely jewellery.... More

I thought the store was pretty neat, but my wife and daughter were horrified by all the dead stuffed animals and trinkets made from dead animals. This is tacky and will no doubt offend many out there, such as the soft-hearted, PETA members and those who hate seeing this sort of yechy stuff. But, for the right person, it can... More

I got a beautiful framed butterfly here last summer. I just visited their new website and they do custom framing for hundreds of butterflies. I know what I am giving for Christmas this year.
