The bus dropped me off right outside, and I had an hour to kill, waiting for a friend to arrive in the area. Certainly don't go out of your way to see... More

This really is a most impressive building and worth a visit inside to see what it has to offer. Everything is on such a grand scale it is hard to believe this is a post office. It is more like a grand exhibition structure.

The waiting line moved very rapidly and the desk person took care of my needs in a very friendly and efficient manner. Would use this Post Office again and it is close to the Hotel.

As this is so close to the hotel, it's worth a look inside. Soak up the atmosphere of the green lamps and wrought iron decor.

History or architecture buffs will appreciate this giant post office building much more than average visitors to NYC. However with so much to do and see in the city the General Post Office makes for low priority visit for most and is difficult to suggest for targeting. However if you are visiting Penn Station, Madison Square Garden or nearby Macy's,... More
