The waiting line moved very rapidly and the desk person took care of my needs in a very friendly and efficient manner. Would use this Post Office again and it is close to the Hotel.

As this is so close to the hotel, it's worth a look inside. Soak up the atmosphere of the green lamps and wrought iron decor.
what an excellent peice of arcitecture absolutly lovelly building to go and see the inscription on the frount of the building was a true dedication to the workforce.
History or architecture buffs will appreciate this giant post office building much more than average visitors to NYC. However with so much to do and see in the city the General Post Office makes for low priority visit for most and is difficult to suggest for targeting.
