Tray was our tour guide and he was AMAZING. I went on the tour my first day in New York City and couldn't have been more happy with it. Advice: pack sunscreen, sunglasses, comfortable walking shoes, and don't carry around any bag that is too heavy. (that was my only regret.... wish I had left the heavy purse and DSLR... More

Jimmy was our guide for this fantastic tour of New York. He was extremely knowledgeable, engaging, helpful and very funny, and made the history and culture of this amazing city really come to life. I also got to meet another tour guide, Gregory, who was similarly friendly and knowledgeable. Hugely recommended!

We had a wonderful half-day tour with Luke, and it was a great way to start our vacation in the city. He had great stories to tell, and so many historical facts to share. We loved getting the facts from someone who obviously loved the city where he grew up. Our feet were tired by the end, but the pace... More

This company is rated number one for a reason. It was absolutely brilliant. Massive thanks to Luke and his team for providing such wonderful tours to people eager to see what New York is all about. Luke's passion for this city shone through and this was evident in his extensive knowledge, which he shared with us freely. I was travelling... More

We had the best time strolling the streets of Greenwich, soho, Little Italy with Gregory. He chatted about the interesting features and history as if he was a trusted friend! Pointing out some lovely little businesses for us to try (cookies and Italian) we didn't want it to end, and I could have easily spent the whole day with him!... More

Want to have fun, see it all, and feel like a local? Jeanette with Real New York Tours made the trip memorable for me and my two daughters 12 and 7. We had a very limited time in the city and a long list of places to visit - this tour made it possible to see and learn infinitely more... More

Real New York Tours was a GREAT way to spend a day seeing New York City. Aaron was a lot of fun as a guide and he knew a great deal of details about the city that were fun to learn. The whole operation was excellent. Kristy in the office was instrumental in helping me make plans for my quick... More

Little I can add to what you will see, as this has been covered in great detail in previous reports. At the end of the day, you need the right guide! AB did a fabulous job with our group on our recent tour. Talking and walking for six and a half hours is impressive enough. But to do it several... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
