The cold going on in New York is brutal, and spending time outside, no matter what the reason, feels as a punishment. Imagine how interesting the tour must have been to make you forget it. Congrats Nathan, a job well done.

After reading all the reviews here before we took this tour, I had very high expectations. Needless to say, these expectations were surpassed. Our guide, Trey, was very knowledgable, friendly, and made sure our group stayed together slowing down when needed. Getting to see all sides of New York was simply incredible, starting near Times Square and then walking through... More

I took this trip to NYC with my 2 BFF's and we decided on the Half Apple Downtown three hour private tour. It was one of my favorite things that we did while in NYC. Nathan was very kind and knowledgable! He listened to us and used our personal interests to make the best of our tour. My only regret... More

Hey Oliver, so glad to hear you had a great tour with Nathan. Nathan actually went to school with my wife in Seattle as kids and then 25 years later we ran into him in New York pursing his dream to be an actor. The long running joke and truth that most actors end up waiting tables to make a... More

This was an awesome tour and a wonderful introduction to New York. Nathan was our guide and it was held on the Monday of the blizzard , the tours go on in any weather even blizzards. Nathan did a great job with us, 8 people and we kept a solid pace through the snow and wind and sleet. Our guide... More

It was the coldest day of the year but I didn't notice, the tour was amazing. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and interesting that the tour flew by. We covered a great deal of ground in the 6 hours we were on the tour and I learned so much about the city that you couldn't unless you went on... More

Myself and my boyfriend did the 3 hour walking tour with Trey. It was fantastic, it was my second time and his 1st time to the city. Trey and the tour provided an interesting, informative, relaxed tour that didnt feel too touristy more so an interesting journey around New York. It was freezing cold but that added to the charm.... Hey Ainslee, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with the public and thank you for joining us on what has been some extremely cold days in NYC. Trey has been with our company since day one and it really takes a special person that can keep people entertained and focused when the temperature is in the... More

Our tour guide, Shawn, was terrific. Our group included high school students who were in New York to visit colleges but the colleges were closed due to snow. Shawn saved the day! A college grad who knows his history and New York neighborhoods, he was smart and engaging and the students loved him.

Hey Marcia, so glad to hear your group had a great day with Shawn. I remember the panic in your voice when you called and your plans for your high school group had fell through and you needed something to do in a pinch. SO glad we were able to accommodate you. I knew Shawn would be the perfect match... More

Dear Colin and Julia, You were among the brave who ventured out despite the biiter cold. As Trey did, sometimes it make sense to be flexible, and decide to tour Grand Central as opposed to be exposed to the elements in Central Park. Trey's a warm hearted guy so I am sure that helped as well. Of course, it is... More

My wife and I spent a private six hours on a tour led by Shawn (not to be confused with Marshawn) 9 to 3 on one of the coldest February 15 days in over one hundred years. Cold and blustery. Not new to New York, we walked the town starting at our hotel (52nd and Madison), down to Wall Street... More

Dear Jim, It doesn't surprise us that Shawn was able provide pragmatic history, fun facts about John Gotti and Bob Dylan, and put some of it into a Canadian context. The guy definitely has incredible range! So glad you enjoyed the tour. Thanks very much for the positive review. Warm regards, Luke and Amber More

We booked the 6 hour tour before we visited the city. We arrived at the paramount plaza along with 8 other tourists, we were greeted by out tour guide Trey. He gave us a quick brief into what we would be doing for the day. We started by getting on a subway and headed for soho, Trey chatted to all... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Bursting with an amazing array of sights, sounds, and smells on every block, a visit to Chinatown feels like entering a different world. It’s a colorful spectacle that gets even more crowded on weekends, when families stream in to enjoy huge dim sum feasts and to stock up at the markets on Mott Street. To take a break from the buzz, grab something sweet from one of the many bakeries in the area and head to Columbus Park, where many Chinatown residents exercise, play games, and chat the day away.
