So dang hot in the cellar that's all we could think about.

Bought tickets in Time Square from a lady who told us that it would be a live taping. "There was no live taping!" We were greeted by 2 large bouncers who were super rude and even... read more

We came upon our tickets via 42nd st. just walking along & a ticket scout approached us...We paid $20 for three tickets was worth it! You must have a two drink minimum per- person! Many good acts

Bought tickets in Time Square from a lady who told us that it would be a live taping. "There was no live taping!" We were greeted by 2 large bouncers who were super rude and even tried intimidating the crowd. The show is in a dark basement that was at least 80 degrees. The comedians were good and the waitstaff... More

We visited from Australia in September, and like everyone else, bought the tickets from a guy in Times Square. I really wanted to go to a comedy club so I thought it wouldn't be half bad! We got to the venue and the hostess told us to wait in the "bar". Sounds nice! ... wrong. Down a dark flight of... More

Like so many people, we bought tickets from a street vendor in Times Square, but we haggled and got them cheap, so went along with low expectations. We couldn't have been more wrong. Yes, there is a two drink minimum but the prices were typical NYC bar level and the service was good. There were four comedians plus a host... More

I bought a ticket from one of the agents in Times Square for $15, which I thought was ok, but then there is a 2 drink minimum whilst u are at the comedy show. I can say a few of the comedians were brilliant, and laughed well.. Just 2 Budweiser cost like $25 which included tax and tips on the... More

You can buy tickets in Times Square off the street for a pretty good deal. We went on a Saturday night at 11 and saw 6 different acts. I liked all of the acts and 3 of the acts were stomach hurting funny. The waitstaff is good and the people who run the club are friendly. Also, the show we... More

Public Service Announcement: Anyone who is SURPRISED that a comedy club is a bare-bones venue and has a 2-drink minimum plus gratuity shouldn't be allowed to post because they are TOO STUPID FOR LIFE. Seriously! Anyone who believes the hyperbole of a desperate sidewalk hawker who is paid on commission to sell tickets or go home hungry is a FOOL.... More

Had a great evening out, managed to pick up some tickets for a measly $10 each from "Roy" near times square. Including the two drink pp minimum our evening cost $50. The comedians were hilarious, great crowd of people and the general atmosphere was splendid. We were a bit put off by the reviews, hence why I feel obliged to... More

You can buy tickets in advance for $30 each or at the door for $20 if seats are available. There's a two drink minimum but the drinks are strong so even though they're expensive it doesn't seem unreasonable. It's a fairly small place so almost all seats are good. The comedians are different each night, but they have good variety... More

Bought tickets off a guy at Times Square and ended up going on Sunday night. Half empty room and really poor bar. Comedians were alright. But go somewhere else, like the Comedy cellar.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
