Where to start? Burt was a great guide - informative, good company and well versed on goody stuff! There are numerous stops on route for sampling and all the food is of good quality. Doing this tour, as we did, over lunchtime meant that we didn't need anything else to eat until late evening. From pizza to cannoli everything was... More

We had a fantastic time in the foods of New York tour through the Chelsea market and meat packing district. The size of the group was perfect, not too many people. The food we tasted was fantastic and he guide we had was very informative and knew all information about what we were eating and where we went. In the... More

This was probably the BEST tour we have ever been on. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and we ate a large amount of very good food. We highly recommend this tour! Btw, I was with my 21 yo son and he said it was the best part of your trip to NYC!

We were recommended to join any Food of NY tour and randomly chose the Nolita/NoHo tour. What a gem! First- Anny was amazing. I'd follow her anywhere! So upbeat, knowledgeable and kind. She clearly has a passion for this work. Second - the food: the choices offered on this tour were superb! Virtually all were hidden treasures that we would... More

We did the Chelsea tour as my had already done the Greenwich tour. We had a very funny tour guide named Kurt who had all 16 of our names memorized in 5 minutes. We ate mostly in the Chelsea market and it was excellent. There is something for everyone as there is sweet but mostly savoury dishes to taste. My... More

We took the original Greenwich tour with Bert. He was a fantastic guide who shared a wealth of information regarding both the food and historic Greenwich. My family of 5 all enjoyed the samples--even my picky teens. My only complaint is that we live so far away from these restaurants and this wonderful area!

My girlfriends and I had an amazing time on the Greenwich Village food tour. Bert was our tour guide and he was excellent. We got to taste pizza, cheese, pastries and more. We walked by the building front used by the show Friends and saw other famous landmarks along the way. Very tasty and educational at the same time. I... More

During a recent sisters' getaway we opted to do the Foods of New York Food Tour. The tour we chose was the Greenwich tour and our guide was Burt - FANTASTIC guide. He was very knowledgeable about the area and filled us with historical and architectural information regarding the neighborhood that we visited. This tour requires walking for about 3... More

A girlfriend and I did the Chelsea Market food tour with Darren. He was hilarious and charismatic and the food stops were all delicious. I am a native New Yorker and still found this to be really fun and informative- really cool thing to do if you have anyone visiting from out of town. By the end we were completely... More

We had an AMAZING time on this tour! The food, the history and Cindy our guide were all amazing! We were blessed with great weather and all the the "tourees" were super friendly! On our 5 day honeymoon we went back and ate at 6 of the stops we sampled during the tour. I only wish we would have booked... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
