This tour is not just for tourists! We've been in the NY area all our lives and have often gone to Chinatown, but now see it in a whole new perspective. Loved the history, stories, etc. The food was just outstanding. We have a new list of favorite restaurants in the area! Our guide, Raheem, is the best! Personable, knowledgeable,... More

We had the pleasure of attending the 11am tour on August 25, 2015. Bert was our guide and he was phenomenal! He was very knowledgeable about the food and Greenwich Village. He also did a great job of making us feel welcome and taking care of our group. And the food was amazing! Unfortunately, it was too hot that day... More

Awesome adventure in New York. Our guide was delightful and we learned so much about the area, the people, and of course the food. Could not have asked for a better day. (This was my second tour with this company, previously did the chelsea meat market tour which was also awesome)

I really enjoyed the Foods of Brooklyn tour and had no idea of how much Brooklyn varied in landscape as much as it varied in food experiences. It was great to drive around to the different neighbourhoods and sample all of the local delicacies and also learn about the history of the area. Definitely not as much walking as some... More

We went on the Original Greenwich Village food tour with Robin. She was an excellent guide and made us all feel comfortable. The food was great and the little bits of information were fun and informative. I think she deserves a raise, or maybe a massage 😉.

I've been on 2 tours with Food Tours of NY, The Original Greenwich Village Walking Tour (with the lively and knowledgable Kerianne) and The NoLita/NoHo tour (with the charming and enthusiastic Anny). They were both well-worth it! As a New Yorker, I love learning historical information about neighborhoods I have walked through many times over, but have never had the... More

My friends and I just got back from NYC and the Original Greenwich Village Food and Culture Tour. Our guide was Sephrah, and she was outstanding, full of facts and fun. She was very knowledgeable about the food and the history of the area. The foods offered were wonderful, plentiful and varied. I liked that there were planned breaks too,... More

An enthusiastic guide who loves his work makes all the difference. We stayed in Greenwich Village for 5 days and never would have found some of these places. Very interesting and enjoyable tour!! Thanks Bert.

This is a great tour that I would recommend to anyone who wants to explore Greenwich Village. The food stops were great but even better was our guide Bert who was passionate and very knowledgeable about the area. I particularly loved that the tour combined great food with the history of each store and also the architecture of the area.... More

We had a great tour in Chinatown with Bert. He was very knowledgeable on the neighbourhood and his stories were so fun. The food was great, I loved the Malasysian curry the most but the other dishes were very good. And it was very nice eating in good restaurants and getting the story behind the dishes while eating. I will... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
