I mean, what can one say? It's Fifth Avenue NYC! The best street to be in if you're after shopping (even just window-shopping) and a fun day of sightseeing and walking. I'd love to go back and do it all again!

Beware if you've got teenage daughters or a shopaholic wife in tow! Tons of retail to see, from mid-price on up. Unfortunately, St. Patrick's cathedral was undergoing renovations when we stopped by, but still worth a look. We didn't visit Rockefeller center this visit, having seen it last time. Continues as Central Park East in the north. Empire State Bldg... More

Loved window shopping but went in many stores. Gucci is a must. Just felt very special walking along and enjoying all the sights.

Saks, Rolex, Apple plus every luxury manufacturer of watches, jewellery and women;s fashion - other then Saks not too much for men. Worth wandering down for some window shopping looking at luxury goods with no prices on them (which means you probably cannot afford them). The closer to Central park the more upmarket the shops. Not a shopping street for bargains... More

Even if you don't need to buy anything the window shopping is fun. The best time to stroll down the Avenue is around Christmas, when Bergdorf's and Saks's windows are done up.

Beautiful architecture - hard to watch where you're going when you're too busy looking up at the buildings!

Love, it just walk and enjoy the scenery and the shops. You may not buy anything, you might just pop into a great little bar and have lunch. Great day!

One of my most favorite shopping spots. 5th avenue has stores for the richest of rich, and also the mediocre people. Some of my favorites are Tiffany, Uniqlo, H&M, and Bergdorf

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
