Another of those famous shopping areas of New York, Fifth Avenue has all of those high end names. There are some upper class hotels and places to eat. Very good area to window shop, or blow the budget.

Ranked among the most expensive shopping streets in the world as well as having the world's most expensive retail spaces on a cost per square foot basis, home to extraordinary museums, businesses and stores, parks, luxury apartments, and historical landmarks that are reminiscent of its history. This iconic avenue serves as the dividing line for house numbering and west-east streets... More

Don't let the status of 5th Ave scare you, at the right times the sales in the clothing shops and others are the best you can get, better than bargain shops etc. H&M, Banana Republic, Century 21 and many more offer unbelievable Sales on top of already discounted prices. A must to walk, enter Label named shops and just to... More

It was fun walking down Fifth Avenue with all the famous brand to window shop. It would even be better if you've got the money to really indulge. Nevertheless, the streets are clean and safe.

Fantastic length of street littered with shops. Get's more expensive as you near central park. A great place to spend a day grabbing the New York bargains.

There is lots to see and do down here, though the shops show that you are in a large fashion capital. if you are in new york then you have to just walk down it even if you dont purchase anything

If ultra expensive shopping is in your vacation plans this is the area to go. We enjoyed window shopping at Baccarat, Cartier and Tiffany's on our walk back from Central Park. Fewer homeless and cleaner than other areas of NYC.

As our hotel was just on 77th between Madison and 5th Avenue, so we had an opportunity to see almost the full length of both during our stay. For shopping Madison is by far and away the best for top end shopping with Saks holding off a clean sweep. At the upper end of the Avenue's 5th Avenue wins with... More

Fifth Avenue is the centre artery of NYC. East and West both start there. In itself it is a huge promenade with some incredible name-stores on it. No need to name them; you know them already. On our trip, Fifth Avenue was closed at the Central Park end for a massive parade. One fun aspect was that after the parade... More
