As part of a sightseeing and shopping trip to NYC include an afternoon at MOMA. The museum has a fantastic array of art. There are six floors of incredible works by Picasso, Seurat, Cezanne, and many others. Visitors can explore on their own. A restaurant is available if you want to sit and relax. There is also an outside courtyard.... more

We were at MOMA on 6/24/09 and decided to go to the restaurant rather than one of the cafes for lunch - assuming it would provide a more elegant experience. (have found this to normally be the case at art museums both abroad and in the states) You can't see into the restaurant until you get to the reception desk... more

Don't get me wrong, The Met has a massive and impressive collection of art, but there are only so many renaissance crucifixion paintings you'd care to see. That's why you should go, instead, to the Museum of Modern Art. If you have ever taken an art class, you'll recognize dozens of famous paintings, such as Van Gogh's Starry Night, Dali's... more

We visiting on Friday May 22nd 2009. 6 floors, full of amazing works. Floors 4 and 5 are filled with all the modern icons you expect to find here. The other floors have design, architecture, and special exhibits. I spent 4 hours, and it was not enough to even take it all in. Honestly, I did not expect to enjoy... more

Absolutely loved this place, I'm sure there are very few with a bad word to say about it. Huge building in the centre of new york that houses some of the most famous art in the world. Superb. more

We visited the Museum of Modern Art on Monday, April 27th. We got there right at 10 when it opened. The lines were not too long and we got in very quickly. After walking around Central Park area and Rockefeller Center for awhile prior to heading over to 53rd street, the first thing I needed to do was use the... more

The Moma had a very long line of people waiting to get in, almost 4 city blocks, but we bypassed them all with our City Pass. Yay! We were amazed at how many people were there on an ordinary Wednesday in April. The European paintings were our favorite, and we saw some awesome pieces by Monet, Klimt, Picasso and Van... more

My husband and I both used our student ID's to get in at a discount, $12 each, which is a great price. It was cold on the day we went, so it was a great way to get inside and enjoy a piece of New York. Our favorite part was the Architecture and Design section. Great fun, great culture. more

My daughter and I went on Free Friday last week. We went at 6 p.m. and the museum was crowded but there was no line (EXCEPT for the coat check. Do yourself a favor and don't bring any bags. It will save you lots of time). I love art but I have to say I'm glad I didn't pay to... more
