Christmas Time Is Best. Viewing of Christmas tree, the decorated department store windows, the light show displayed on the side of the adjacent building, the lighted row of angels guiding the path from 5th Avenue directly to the tree.

Beautiful place to visit. Between the little shops, restaurants, ice skate rink, and more, you could never be bored here.

Restaurants, ice skating rink home the of NBC studios all from another day. One of old New Yorks grand landmarks. Now Manhatten has such tall buildings, these old timers are like Stumptown. All sich in history and still a treasure to experience.

My daughter and I loved it here lots of shops to go round while waiting to go up to the TOP OF THE ROCK.Not knowing what to expect, we had heard that Top of the Rock was better than the Empire State Bldg for views we were not disappointed. The lines were not very long and the crowd control was... More

Much better 360 view than the Empire State Building and much more space to walk around freely with less sales pitches to entice the money out of your wallet. Cost was $30 per adult.

Terrific views and lots of areas for shopping and relaxing in the mall. The view from the Rock never disappoints - I prefer the view of Central Park from the Rock versus that of the Empire state building

Especially great in the winter when you can watch the skaters. Beautifully decorated for Christmas, The Rock is an incredible complex. Not to be missed when visiting NYC!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
