As well as the Observation Tower which offers spectacular views of New York north as well as south. I think it is better than the Empire State building in the day as you can see Central Park from it, although it is not as high as ESB. We loved the main plaza with all the flags and the icerink. You have a great view from rockefeller center. There is also a lot to see around the center specially during christmas time. The big christmas tree is really beautiful.

Started our journey here on the 69th floor at Too of the Rock where the 360 degree views of the city were amazing and the tour well organised. Plenty of shopping here whether it's souvenirs or top labels you are after. There is even an ice rink!!!! Beautiful huge building ! Definitely worth a visit!

You will never find all the ins and outs of this place if you don't do this tour, I was expecting to find it a little dry - but it was brilliant. Very knowledgeable guide. Would highly recommend.

It's difficult to be in midtown Manhattan and to not somehow come in contact with Rockefeller Center. It covers about six square blocks between Fifth Avenue and the Avenue of the Americas from 48th to 51st streets. I've shopped and dined here, gawked at the gorgeous Christmas tree when in the city for the holidays and enjoyed watching the Rockettes... More

My wife and I were in New York City just before Christmas. This is always an amazing time to be in New York. Rockefeller Center at Christmas time is one of those events that you just have to experience. All of the lights and the enormous Christmas tree and all of the other fantastic decorations have to be seen in... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
