Wonderful views of Manhattan, at 850 feet above sea level, the visit thicket includes a piece of history about the Rockefeller center and Radio City Music Hall. Take your camera! the view is better than the top of the Empire State building. more

The view itself is unique and astonishing, unobstructed for 360 degrees and stretching for miles in every direction. It includes a panorama of Central Park and the northern half of Manhattan that can't be found anywhere else. New York's other landmarks are visible as well, including the Chrysler Building, Times Square, the Hudson River, the East River, the Brooklyn Bridge,... more

Visited both the Empire State Building and Rockefeller Center Top of the Rock Observatory on our first trip to New York and agree the best views are from the Rockefeller Center, mainly because it is closer to Central Park and you also get great views of the Empire State Building as well! We visited during the day then again at... more

Agree - some of the best views in New York to be found - where else can you actually be high enough to see the Empire State? Only thing was being charged $2 to get a leaflet telling you what you were seeing and it was out of date - it was missing a couple of sky-scrapers!!!! Def worth the... more

We had a nice visit in Rockefeller Center's Observation Desk last August. The staff was polite and we didn't need to queue. NYC was absolutely worth of seeing from the Observations Desk. more

If you want to see New York get up to the Top of the Rock. No queues and No wait with loads of different observation decks for one set price however sunset/sunrise is $2 more if you go up round these times. Unlike the Empire State Building their is room to move and get plenty of pictures without the ugly... more

Top of the Rock has added a cherry to the best attraction in NYC: a tour of Rockefeller Center. You can take the tour before or after you go to the observation deck. Our guide was an older lady, a native, who knew her stuff, and made our group feel very welcome. We've been to Rockefeller Center before, and were... more

Don't forget to go up the Rockefeller Center, as they have a lookout which rivals the Empire State Building, without the crowds and only costs $10 US more

Top of the rock is excellent and it is true that the views are far better than those of the empire state building with far less queueing! You also feel a lot safer up there than the ESB and there is more room to move around to get the views you want. We purchased our ticket to Top of the... more
