Took a walking tour of the buildings and artwork. The history is fascinating and the buildings stunning. And THE TOP OF THE ROCK is way better than the Empire State Building. Lots of room to move around and better views, even though it is not as tall.

Rockefeller Center was very pretty. We missed the taping of the Today Show, but saw where they usually are on the plaza. We would love to see the ice rink, but we didn't visit at the right time of year.

You shouldn't visit NYC without a stop here. Whether it's to see a talk show taping at Rockefeller Center, watch the skaters, be part of the morning news taping, appreciate the prayerfulness @ St. Pat's Catherdral, have a drink, lunch or dinner in any of the surrounding venues, plan to see a show at Radio Center, or just grab a... We walked from Time Square to Rockefeller centre and loved sitting outside on the benches. As it was 3rd July, it was all covered with US flags. Walk from Rockefeller centre to central park was great too.

Brass and marble for all to see. Amazing complex full of history and beauty. They were just beginning to fill the ice skating rink whilst we were there.

Well, the Rockefeller Center is always worth a visit. In summer when the there people sitting outside having a coffee or in Winter when there is the ice skating rink. Or you go up to top of the rock, or you shop a souvenier from the NBC fan shop... Always something to do and see.

I wanted to get the best view of Manhattan and decided to take the risk and pay for the tour and trip up to the top of the rock. The tour I signed up for never showed up so they swapped me to a later tour, which was a bit of a pain because it meant I had to spend... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
