Zip helicopter tours new york; may 21. 2011 The most chaotic and incompetent organization of all. Watch out, they catch you up at the entrance! Avoid the yellow! We were put off for two hours before we finally could fly, even though we had booked for 2:30 pm. We paid $ 645 for three people! The operation was absolutely unfriendly.... More

This was to be the highlight of my trip - selected the 20 minute tour to make sure I would see all the sights. There are five companies operating off the pier - Zip provide the smallest, oldest and most tatty looking helicopter. I was sat in the seat behind the passenger - back far left of the craft. The... We were scammed by a street hawker to go on a flight. It was something we wanted to do so an easy sale for him. First he said if we buy the extended trip it would just be two if us... This was a lie!!!! We ended up booking for a few days in advance and told to turn up... More

Zip Tours was an absolutely horrendous tour operator!!!!!!!! We had the most awful experience with them! We were only in New York for a week last week, and my partner and I had booked on to do the 'Grand Island Tour', which was the deluxe tour that was supposed to last 25 minutes. We paid $US260 per person for these... More

A horrible horrible experience. We arrived at the Staten Island ferry terminal unsure of the location of the helipad and the tour touts were outside and we were approached by one of the guys from the tour company touting for business. I'm so sorry we bothered. He took us to the centre and asked the lady at the desk about... More

Booked the flight from the UK, but had to ring again once in the US to confirm a flight time. This is quite a pain because we had to seek out a payphone. (After we wasted $20 on the hotel phone which didn't put us through but still charged our credit card for the privilege!!) We arrived in advance of... More

We wasted a half day because of their arrogant treatment of their customers. We were 5 persons waiting and in line but they kept us waiting for a single passenger to arrive and fill up the sixth seat in the helocipter...but without telling us! We started wondering why later groups bypassed us and not until I voiced my frustration after... More

Still in shock. We are not sure why this ended up being such a disaster. What was supose to be an amazing birthday surprise for my sister who I havent seen in five years turned into a nightmear, leaving that dirty place in tears. Yes we arrived late. We are both new to New York and were lost on the... More

We booked 6 weeks in advance and paid $260 up front and were given a date - on arrival to New York for our two day visit we phoned and were given a time slot of 12.30pm. We arrived at 12.15pm - we waited a total of 3 hrs for our 15 minute trip - longer than we had waited... More

Worst experience ever, not only was the desk people ignorant and too busy slang talking with each other, we were never given any instructions or safety directions like the people before us hushed outside in a disorganized manor. My group was left feeling scared and bewildered. The helicopter was very nice but our pilot with the curly hair lacked any... More
