It's so sad that this legendary toy store is closing. I brought my kids up to NYC specifically to see it before it was too late. It did not disappoint. They have everything! They even let you jump on the famous Big Piano. It was very crowded on Friday afternoon on a holiday weekend. Glad we made the trip!

Glad we stopped here. 2 floors. Our Sons are 20's but we all had fun exploring. Loved that there were the brainy games out to explore. The big piano and Lego statues as well as build your own RC cars.

... But don't be upset if you won't be able to make it there before it closes. After all, it is only a toy store. With nice toys, like stuffed animals and 3000+ LEGO sets and 30000 jigsaw puzzles, but still only toys. We went there only because my 5 year old son is a big fan of Home Alone... More

My husband and I made time in our trip to see FAO. It was fun, very crowded though. It's very very popular and hard to move around in. Fun to walk around and check out all the areas and the BIG life size piano.

This is a very colorful store. Lots of colorful candies! My kid loved the large stuff animals there. The stepping piano is fun for the kids too. Although the toys are expensive. :-(

I went with a group of parents and kids. We booked a tour and our tour guide was fabulous. I think his name was Rich(I am sorry if I am wrong). He explained to the kids how things came about in the store all the history of the toys and they loved it. Staff members were friendly they did a... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
