My kids were 14 and 13 and they thought it was the greatest store they've ever been to. The candy alone is worth the trip.

I went around Christmas which was probably a mistake! Busiest time of the year! First time the line was right around the block!! Standing in line in NY in the winter? No thanks. Second time I went back right as it opened. There was already a line but it wasn't to bad. I went in, looked around, bought some things... More

I visited New York for 1 week in February and visited here twice!! The people in my group were between 25 and 53 so I do not think children need to be there to visit! There are some amazing things in this shop our favourites were the Zoltar machine and the piano on the floor!! It was fab! The science... More

This place was absolutely amazing. Not just shopping but entertaining as well. The people that work there are helpful and seem to really enjoy their jobs.

I have been to this store many times and have always thought the place was really cool. They have a lot of very different items in the store but lots of classics as well. I was looking for some My Little Pony stuff for my daughter at the Times Square Toys R US and came up empty. Came over here... More

Terrific, wonderful, huge place not to be missed while visiting NYC, across from Plaza Hotel and Central Park, and right next door to huge Apple Store. Definitely check this terrific store out, great for young and old. Escalator ride up to 2nd floor huge beautiful stuff animals of all types line the route, also check out the lego structures at... You can't help but be a 'kid at heart' when you visit FAO Schwarz Toy Store in Manhattan. From the toy soldier doorman who greets you outside to the numerous themed toy areas and oversized stuffed animals this is no ordinary toy store. On the main floor you will find the Zoltar fortune telling machine from the movie "BIG" but... More

My three teenagers/tweenagers LOVED this store! Lots to do - the famous huge keyboard as well as tons of little craft stations (make your own cookies, etc.) were set up all over the store. I especially liked how there were kiosks from other unique stores around the city (The Evolution Store, Acme Novelty, etc.)! The selection was vastly superior to... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
