We booked the breakfast with Toy Soldier Roy, and being big kids ourselves, we were SO excited to visit the store, knowing that this was the home of the WhatNot Workshop and that we wanted to make ourselves muppets! We were welcomed into the store an hour before the public and had our very own private tour of the store... More

The only reason I decided to go was to have a go at the Big Piano from "Big", which was fun but it was different than the one in the movie. However on the side, the shop is good toy shop, has its own personality, unlike one of those conglomerate toy shops. Go in the morning as there's a line... More

NYC with children is lots of fun....and this is a great thing to do. Advance reservations are a must.....you arrive an hour before the store opens and get a special tour thru this wonderful store! Our "soldier" was great......funny and entertaining! A bag you fill with candy from their expansive candy bar is your "party favor". The breakfast was very... More

Big store, crowded as could be but the kids really enjoyed it. If you have kids and are in the city you have to swing by; you'll regret it if you don't.

Fairly crowded when we were there but no line for the Big Piano! Love going up the escalator under the watchful eye of all the giant stuffed animals. Several place, my husband and I had a seat and watched my 7 yo play and sort through the toys.

I have visited F.A.O Schwarz several times over the years, and have always enjoyed finding off beat and unusual toys and gifts. The store is beautiful to look at, and has a selection second to none. I have never seen another store with a make your own muppet display, and the comic display is really quite excellent. None of this... More

We visited the store the day after Christmas and I'm glad took the time to go there. My daughter loved it and we found some unique toys that I haven't seen in a very very long time. The store was crowded but since its so big it wasn't too crazy. My fav were the soldiers outside, we took a picture... More

Took my nephew here for his birthday and he loved it, usually there are a lot people on weekends so you might have to wait on a line outside until it's safe for more people to go in but the wait is worth it. They have a giant piano, no matter how Old you are you have to go on.

Visiting FAO Schwarz was on our list of NYC must-dos. It was crazy busy as it was a weekend day not long before Christmas. Queue for the 'big' piano was too long so we kept going. Lots of amazing soft toys and departments full of other treats. We bought a few bits and pieces and then escaped the crowds back... More

We visited here just so I could have a go on the piano. The store is full of stuffed teddy a. The down stairs part has lots of sweets and different variety then what we sell back home. The store is worth a visit especially for children
