The Chrysler Building, ‘an icon under renovation’ proclaimed the sign in the foyer. Once icon described an important or lasting symbol of something but lately it seems the word is applied to almost anything or anybody. The Chrysler Building is indeed an icon in the correct sense. One can surely marvel at the exterior architecture - It has stylish features... More

The outside in itself is beautiful, by day or night but when you enter through one of the many doors you are taken away to another era. Beautiful wood panelling, marble everywhere, everything matched the external appearance and it has the largest ceiling mural in the world. Floor mats, staircases, the lifts - which you can't access, are timeless in... More

The Chrysler building has been one of the most iconic skyscrapers to grace the Manhattan skyline for a long time now. The art deco panelling is unmistakeable and looks truly beautiful at night all lit up from anywhere in the city. For some of the best night views I would recommend seeing it from Top Of The Rock at night... More

We admired the iconic well preserved tower from the street. We went in and admired the foyer but were told that we could not go to the top - then I read Cinesanky's review!

This is a beautiful building from the outside. Because it is a working office tower, you are not allowed up. However the mural work in the main rotunda is worth a stop. It shows the hard working history of NYC. Remember to look up at the ceiling.

it's a pretty cool building and for me it was an opportunity to see something that i seen on TV and in Movies and so on so many times so it was nice but i can't say that you miss that much if you don't go there.

It is located in the east side of Manhattan between 42nd and Lex. It is one of the landmarks of NYC. If you want to visit this building it is free of cost. But there are lot of other interesting things to do in NyC as well. so you can easily give this a miss.

The style of the architecte looks old now. I prefer modern buildings. But it has been a landmark for decades.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
