After parking in the most ridiculous parking lot I have EVER seen in my life (I'm 34 and have lived in Atlanta, DC, Boston and other such crowded, traffic-filled places), we eventually made our way to our seats after the clueless usher directed us to the wrong side of the theatre. I then snapped two photos of the cute set... More

My husband and I took a weekend getaway for our anniversary. We saw the Christmas Story. The area itself has an historic feel and the playhouse is rustic and cozy. The staff is pleasant. The play was well put together and the actors were excellent. Is a great place for children too.

Flat Rock is closer than Barter Theatre in Abingdon, Va, and better dining and shopping choices than Abbeville Opera Housein Abbeville, SC!!!! ALL of these are fine professional theatre venues... ALL are the "STATE THEATRES" of their respective states, HOWEVER... . The Flat Rock Playhouse (Flat Rock, NC) offers a wide variety of theatre experiences for all tastes and ALL... More

What a fabulous way to spend an evening (or an afternoon when there is a matinee). Last year there was an original production called Zelda which starred the guy who won the Tony on Broadway the year before. This year they did Evita which was excellent and followed that up with Les Miz which starred the guy who had the... More

Flat Rock Playhouse deserves the accolades it receives. It has been a mainstay of Western North Carolina theatre for decades and in recent years has reached even further. Recently it added a venue in downtown Hendersonville on Main Street which provides an intimate setting for plays and easy access to wonderful restaurants to make a complete evening. The Flat Rock... The Theatre is wonderful, the play The 3 Musketeers was broadway worthy, very funny, and very professionally presented. Parking is very poor, but exit time was very good.

Flat Rock Play House is a local treasure! What a wonderful asset to this community and a delight to visit. I have only been to one production here, but I will definitely be back. This small venue offers an excellent seat for everyone and the local volunteers make your theater experience even more special. Please join with me in supporting... More

The best way to describe the Flatrock playhouse is a Broadway quality production on a smaller stage. I have seen a couple of shows now at this theater and I was very impressed. The last show I saw was les miserables, which is a show I have seen on Broadway numerous times and this production was equally as amazing. This... More

My wife and I went to the Hank Williams Show. Because of a past visit (different show) that was so well done, we decided to go again. Neither of us are country music fans but certainly had heard of Hank Williams and decided to treat ourselves to the performance. The play was excellent and we enjoyed the story and the... More
