Description:

The Guaranteed Dolphin Watch is our most popular tour from June to October....

The Guaranteed Dolphin Watch is our most popular tour from June to October. This two hour cruise is ideal for all ages. You will hear a factual narration on the Bottlenose Dolphin. Dolphin mating and birthing observed on many cruises. See the most respected aquatic mammal in it's natural habitat. Breathtaking views are all around you on this tour. Our large viewing areas offer everyone a good spot. Each vessel is covered for sun protection with a restroom on board and Coast Guard inspected. Our crews are usually native to the Outer Banks. They love to answer questions and show off the local area to all of our visitors. We believe you'll have the time of your life and it will be the most memorable afternoon of your trip to the Outer Banks.

My wife says this was her favorite thing to do in the OBX. You can expect to see dolphins in their natural habitat. They aren't going to be jumping a lot or swimming on their tale with most of their body out of the water. No. This is the real way they should be experienced, free and all natural. Captain,... More

A fun trip--we saw lots of dolphins and a nice sunset, and rode a boat. Other reviewers may be expecting the Disney Jungle Cruise or something, but this was time well spent on an actual sightseeing boat out in the sound. (Note: it's hard to identify the business, because they go by several names and have various phone numbers, but... More

Hauled out from Corolla - 17 of us with 7 teens and 2 kids (6 and 9) who were super excited about the tour. As soon as we got on, the captain was surly and irritable - as if he'd had a bad day at his day job. He warmed up a little, but then started taking and making work... More

I gave it a two b/c we did see dolphins, but I would have preferred to do a more educational tour. The captain was surly, made jokes that often fell flat or missed the mark and failed to be humourous as he imagined they were. Still all that I would have tolerated if a) he hadn't conducted personal business on... More

We had made reservations for Captain Johnny's Dolphin Cruise. Since there were numerous thunderstorms in the area, upon arrival, we espressed concern about going out on the water in case of lightening, asking if we could cancel our reservation. Capt. Johnny's reply was unnecessarily abrasive and confrontational. After waiting an hour, the weather abated somewhat so we went on the... More

I want to preface the review by saying that I know that whether we saw Dolphins or not was not under the control of the captain. That being said, we saw a TON of Dolphins and several babies Dolphins on our sunset tour last night. It was a great experience. The ship was nice. There is a bathroom and they... More

Our party of eight went on the Capt. Johnny for a sunset cruise out of Manteo. We not only saw a spectacular sunset, we also saw a bald eagle and a rare white adult pelican among all the wildlife we saw. The captain of the boat was very entertaining, and I highly recommend this boat cruise.

My parents and I chose this tour because of all the great reviews. The website states that there is a 20% discount with advance reservations and payment in cash. When I made my reservation, I was told that only applied to the morning cruise, which we had requested but had been told they were not running this time of year.... More

My husband and I went on the sunset cruise to see dolphins and a sunset. It took us a while to find the dolphins, but we eventually did and there were quite a few of them. On the return trip, we were to see the sunset, but unfortunately there wasn't much to see. The captain of the cruise was informative... More
