I don't want to spoil the surprise but plan to visit with 5.00 for a special treat. The gallery is small but very quaint. The staff is friendly and the art is wonderful. They have a mix of mediums from painting, jewelry, knitted items, paper ache sculptures that you have to see to believe. There is a monthly revolving exhibit... More

We were there for the 1st Friday event that the town holds and the arts council was open. We went in to enjoy the artwork and met a local artist who was having a showing there. Very nice place and friendly folks.

We were impressed with the selection of art from local artists and the quality for the price. We only wish that we saw more of what we were looking for: local lighthouses. We would return on a future visit to see what new additions they are offering.

Many creative local and not so local artists, photographers and jewelry makers have their work on display and for sale at the Aerts Council. Some of the art is beach oriented (which is what a lot of people are looking for when visiting a beach area) but there is diversity in the art work on display. I like to stroll... More

We thought this was at best an average art co-op. Almost exclusively "beachy" type art, nothing here was even remotely of interest to purchase. If you are in Manteo it is worth a 10 minute browse.

Many enjoyable shops, restaurants, art galleries and historical sites, First Fridays are celebrated on the waterfront with vendors, free entertainment featuring bands, orchestras & singers. It's always a surprise. Festival Park is right across the walking bridge. It is the site of The... More

This was our first chance to stop by and browse. The Council gallery is located is historic downtown Manteo in the old County courthouse, built back in 1904. The artwork is wonderful, as are the staff. If you are visiting the The Outer Banks, don't miss downtown Manteo, and don't miss the DCAC. We left with a great lighthouse scene that... More

While on spring break in Kill Devil Hills, NC, we decided to journey south along the OBX to Manteo on Roanoke Island to check out the DCAC. The gallery is housed in a beautiful old historic county courthouse, with the upstairs currently under renovation. The staff were friendly and helpful and have used their space well to display a wide... More
