Many creative local and not so local artists, photographers and jewelry makers have their work on display and for sale at the Aerts Council. Some of the art is beach oriented (which is what a lot of people are looking for when visiting a beach area) but there is diversity in the art work on display. I like to stroll... More

We thought this was at best an average art co-op. Almost exclusively "beachy" type art, nothing here was even remotely of interest to purchase. If you are in Manteo it is worth a 10 minute browse.

I love this place. It if filled with the works of many local artists. I always try to make their First Friday celebrations. You can buy gifts in all price ranges.

This was our first chance to stop by and browse. The Council gallery is located is historic downtown Manteo in the old County courthouse, built back in 1904. The artwork is wonderful, as are the staff. If you are visiting the The Outer Banks, don't miss downtown Manteo, and don't miss the DCAC. We left with a great lighthouse scene that... More

While on spring break in Kill Devil Hills, NC, we decided to journey south along the OBX to Manteo on Roanoke Island to check out the DCAC. The gallery is housed in a beautiful old historic county courthouse, with the upstairs currently under renovation. The staff were friendly and helpful and have used their space well to display a wide... More

The Outer Banks attract a lot of artists. This older building in historical Manteo showcases many local arts and crafts. They have paintings, photographs, jewelry, pottery and sculpture, and the staff is very pleasant.
