Where we live we have something similar, but at the same time it's completely different. The people were very friendly and nice. Love the chickens and the ox, Charlie. My son loved the ox pulled hay ride & feeding the chickens.

I personally thought this place was only ok, but I give it a better rating because the rest of the family had a great time. The kids loved chasing the chickens and swinging on the swing. Charlie gave us a cool ride around the farm. I was disappointed to find out there are not any cooking demonstrations in the summer... More

Decided to go there because the reviews on trip advisor were so high, but wasn't sure how it would work out. There were a lot of neat and interesting things to learn. It is a self guided tour so if you are not inclined to ask questions then you may find it boring. Our group challenged the kids who ranged... More

The Island farm takes you and your family on a journey of what it would have been like when the settlers first arrived on Roanoke Island. You can tour an old farm house, chicken coup, see farm animals up close, and watch as farm workers do their daily tasks. It reminds me of Williamsburg but on a much smaller scale.... More

Wasn't much there but kids loved the ride with the ox pulling the cart. The old house and slave cabins were interesting for adults but rather boring for the kids.

Very educational and hands on. We had tons of fun! Staff wears period clothes and give demos on games, feeding chickens, and even a hay ride around the farm! Only $20 for 4 of us was an added bonus! The woman we spoke to when we got there was hilarious and even got my husband to wear a bonnet for... More

Wonderful for children and adults alike. Terrific experience for families. We loved our hayride around the farm as well as the farm animals. Also enjoyed the touring the house with period furnishings and the other buildings on the farm. It's not just for children. Very pleasant experience.

Very nice learning experience. Not really an all day event. Great for families and everyone to learn about life in the past.

This was my kids' favorite place to go in OBX...and my husband and I actually felt the same way. We learned a lot. Kids were able to swing on old time swings under oak trees, see animals, feed animals. go on hayride, dress as the family would have during the time period, and play the games the kids played back... This was almost the best part of our NC vacation. We were worried that it was just for children, but we felt very comfortable touring the farm as a couple. The setting is gorgeous, peaceful, green and quiet. Every part of the buildings and the property was so authentic. We loved the chickens and the cow. I got to feed... More
