Our grandsons are 2 and 5 and they both loved the Island Farm. The people there were all so interested and interesting. The kids were both fascinated by farm life long ago.

we visited the farm with our 3 year old and her grandparents. Everyone had a great time. The cart ride with Charlied the Ox was a big hit as well as tating fig preserves in the kitchen house and taking photos dressed up in period costumes. The staff was really friendly, a must do in Manteo

We really enjoyed visiting the farm. The house with the small winding stairs going up reminded me of my grandmother's house many many years ago. The staff were very friendly and informative. It was a pleasure to see and I would definately recommend it.

The guides on the farm are family members, living close to the farm, they even look after the farm animals when the farm is closed. Very knowledgeable and we even got to try some corn cakes, fresh off the cast iron skillet! Feeding the chickens was great and watching Charlie the ox plow the field was a lot of fun.

Wife and I really enjoyed this lovely attraction and look forward to taking the Grandkids there next time. As a non-profit the relatively small entrance fee goes to continue to restore and improve this historical gem, not line someone's pockets, which is even better.
