Had my family of 18 out for a private charter and we had a great time. Crew is friendly and knowledgeable. Even saw dolphins. Would do it again.

This was the best sunset cruise ever! We saw so many dolphins and a beautiful sunset. The crew was very friendly and the ship was so beautiful.

Took a lovely, clear sky sunset sailing cruise, after 4 rainy days, with another couple. Parking was terrible. We were a half hour early and there were only 2 spaces remaining. The parking lot is shared with other businesses. We were the only passengers on the sailboat, which probably had a capacity of 30-40. Because of 4 days of rain,... More

Our last night in Manteo with my wife of 30 years celebration was capped by this sailboat cruise. Not much wind that evening but were very lucky with storms in forecast. Did not rain where we were but on the open water saw less than half a mile on the banks rain was pouring. Neat effect when you could see... More

My newlywed wife and I took a cooler on a sunset cruise on the Downeast Rover. We were the last in the boat and sat on the bench in the bow (I think we got the best seats). The mate was helpful with moving my cooler on the boat and offered corkscrews, cups, ice, and even their bathroom. He was... More

Six of us had made reservations for the Sunset cruise for Friday, but when we saw the weather might be questionable, we called and asked if we could possibly schedule for Thursday instead. Kim was very cooperative in rescheduling. Unfortunately, the weather was not so cooperative on Thursday, and the trip was cancelled. Kim automatically rebooked us for Friday, which... More

Four of us wanted to experience our first time on a sail boat. We saw an advertisement for The Downeast Rover Sailing Cruises and called to see when we would be able to book a cruise. They had availability that afternoon. What a great time and experience. We cruised the sound for two hours on the sailboat and our captains... More

It was a beautiful evening. We sailed about 30 minutes ( after turning off the engines.). At that point the Captain heard about dolphins up ahead. He asked if we wanted to catch up to them or continue to sail. Four of us in the back answered "sail" but we were out voted. We caught up to the dolphins. It... More

This was my second sailing experience and my husband's first...we both enjoyed the evening but would have liked more information about the water and the surroundings. The captain and first mate were great to answer when we asked about something but it would have been nice to also have a little history or information as we sailed. It was a... More

We had a great trip out on the Downeast Rover! This was a quiet get-a-way from the kids for my wife and my anniversary and the Downeast Rover Sailing experience was exactly what we needed. The crew was friendly and helpful and the views were incredible. Most of the other guests sat up in front and I could hear the... More
