It was great, it is a tough hike as a lot of it is on the beach sand. We enjoyed every minute of it though. A lot of reviewers before did recommend looking into the tides, which we didn't. I would suggest to do that, as we got caught in the high tide on the way back and had to... More

This hike provides a mix of woods, beach and marsh. The views alone make this trail worth it. We went out early in the morning and we were the only people on the beach for a while. On the walk we saw about 7-8 seals close to the shore line. The tides do come in quick through the marsh so... More

I've been doing this hike for so many years and just can't get enough. It has a drama and a poetry to it. The farther out you get, the more unusual and remote it becomes. You can do a mini version with kids or go for the whole enchilada (Rollwich, perhaps). LOVE IT!

This is one of our favorite hikes on the Cape. It's not a short walk so bring water and snacks. The views along some sections are lovely but be aware you are in the woods for quite a while.

My sister and I took this 7-mile loop, full-day hike for our first time while vacationing on the lower cape. It was a gorgeous, warm September day at low tide, and while people elsewhere were sweating like crazy with temps nearing 100 degrees in Boston, we were a comfortable, breezy 82 degrees. We brought plenty of water and lunch to... More

Before I embarked on this hike, I stopped at the visitors center and the rangers were very helpful in describing the trail and providing trail guides. Love to read the history of a place I visit and this added to the experience of the hike. Was able to complete the entire 8 miles in 3 hrs. Never a dull moment... More

On a recent visit to Eastham, my son recommended a hike he had taken, so we visited the Great Island Trail. It was just beautiful, very serene. We walked along a sand trail and on the beach a while. Just a beautiful scene!!

We love to walk on Great Island and very infrequently do we find a lot of people walking. This means that we can relax, enjoy the sights, smells and sounds all which adds up to a very pleasant, peaceful experience. Great exercise too!

This is the prettiest hike we took in Cape Cod. You get to see unspoiled and uncrowned views of beeches, bays and woods. If you visit during low tide, if you wear water shoes and are willing to get a bit wet, you can could across the bay.

We put in at the Chequesset bridge and paddled out to Jeremy's Point. A little over 2 miles each way. Stopped at the site of the old Tavern and swam off the point. Beautiful place! Hiking the trails also beautiful. There is a long, sandy stretch before you reach the trail-this part is tricky with small children. Every time we... More
