Wonderful walk, as long as you like.

Park up at the top of the hill, and walk along the bay, or if you want, cut through to the beach. If you go along the bay, it cuts into the forest, then back out to the bay--this is a committed walk, 5 miles or so. Very beautiful, and gives a sense of the whole eco-system of the cape.... More

This is about 4 miles, but it is very picturesque. I like it on off season when the crowds are minimal. You should get a tide chart and plan your hike around the tides. High tide means wet feet. The other thing to remember is that if the beach side is at the end, then on a cloudy day it... More

Whether you're into exploring nature, hiking, kayaking, beach walking, sun bathing, fishing, photography, SUP or learning local history this place is a fantastic way to spend your time. Check the tides, bring your sunscreen, bring a stocked backpack & your choice of hydration. Relax and enjoy! Enough said...~♡~

The trail is beautiful, well-maintained. There are three choices of distances for different abilities. The water comes on to the trail though, so you might want to wear waterproof sandals and roll up your pants!

We've done a number of great seaside hike in New England including many in Maine. Great Island Trail outside of Wellfleet, Massachusetts offers challenges of its own, but also unparalleled beauty. Yes, pay attention to high tide. We were there during high tide and had no problems, but it's easy to see that one could have issues during high winds... More

It was great, it is a tough hike as a lot of it is on the beach sand. We enjoyed every minute of it though. A lot of reviewers before did recommend looking into the tides, which we didn't. I would suggest to do that, as we got caught in the high tide on the way back and had to... More

This hike provides a mix of woods, beach and marsh. The views alone make this trail worth it. We went out early in the morning and we were the only people on the beach for a while. On the walk we saw about 7-8 seals close to the shore line. The tides do come in quick through the marsh so... More

I've been doing this hike for so many years and just can't get enough. It has a drama and a poetry to it. The farther out you get, the more unusual and remote it becomes. You can do a mini version with kids or go for the whole enchilada (Rollwich, perhaps). LOVE IT!

This is one of our favorite hikes on the Cape. It's not a short walk so bring water and snacks. The views along some sections are lovely but be aware you are in the woods for quite a while.

My sister and I took this 7-mile loop, full-day hike for our first time while vacationing on the lower cape. It was a gorgeous, warm September day at low tide, and while people elsewhere were sweating like crazy with temps nearing 100 degrees in Boston, we were a comfortable, breezy 82 degrees. We brought plenty of water and lunch to... More
