Every guide is a professional, certified by the National Park Service by examination. In addition to tours of the Canyon de Chelly National Monument, cultural consulting needs are addressed on a case by case basis for those who seek a more intimate insight onto the Navajo Way. Leon has assisted film-makers on location in Navajoland and is used to delivering high quality services to the people and organizations he serves. There are over 2700 archaeological sites within the many canyons of Canyon de Chelly National Monument. Only 13 of the 700 standing ruins have been stabilized, re-inforced, or protected from degradation. We are professional Navajo guides who can teach you the history of our canyons and about the Anasazi, Hopi and Navajo peoples. We pride ourselves in offering you more than just viewing our scenery - but we can do this too! « less

We planned a trip to the Southwest and included Canyon de Chelly at the last minute. We wanted a private tour and contacted Leon Skyhorse Thomas. DON'T USE HIM!! We had it all set up and when we arrived he stood us up, said he had so many tours and he just overlooked us. So, there we stood without a... More

Good roads throu Navajo Reservation lands. Canyon has seen a lot of history between Navajos and U.S. cavalry in late 1800"s. Canyon has amazing views and unexpected (to me) vegetation on canyon floor. Lovely rock formations and views from top. Footpaths are marked with small piles of pebbles--a nice touch without ruining the natural beauty with asphalt paths. Very spiritual... More

We booked this tour with the Leon Skyhorse Thomas group. On arrival, Irene gave us Harris Hardy as our guide and I thought this would be great after reading DJSMDJD's review. We agree that he is extremely learned and obviously raised as a hard worker. However, he never learned " people " skills as he answered many questions with "... More

We had been to the canyon about 10 years go and had hiked down to the White House ruins, This trip we were with our nephew and wanted him to see it for the first time. We booked a late afternoon tour and it was beautiful and the guide was engaging and informative. We were taken through the canyon in... More

And, we did. His name is Harris Hardy. We took a private tour with him, and it was well worth the money. Rec. ask for him as your guide, the 4 hr tour, take a break for lunch, then do the South Rim drive on your own. Hit the Visitor's Center; very reasonably priced books/pamphlets...and ask to see the 23... More

I would put this trip on my bucket list of things to see! The rim tour is nice but to really experience the beauty of the Canyon the guided tour is well worth it . We had a great guide that was very knowledgeable about the history of the canyon. It was a three hour tour with many petroglyphs. The... More

The jeep trip into Canyon de Chelly was great. The guide was very knowledgeable and showed us the many petrogliphs and told us the history of the area.

Of all the tours available with an Indian guide, I think we hired the best! One of the people at the hotel contacted Antelope House Canyon Tours for us. We were picked up in a 4-wheel drive vehicle by Ben Teller. He narrated the history and some of the geology of the canyon. He learned about touring the canyon from... More

We arrived late in the afternoon in Chinle. After we checked into our hotel, we decided to drive the South rim of Canyon de Chelly. Since this was our first trip to this location, we were so impressed with the views. Husband can't walk far since his knees are giving out. We decided to try for a tour. I called... More
