We went on the bioluminescence tour and it was THE coolest thing we've done here! The water glows with movement and in calm areas it looks like sparkles just under the surface. Make sure you grab a handful when it's really dark and let the water run down off your arm. So cool. We also saw some dolphins and a... More

I was looking for fun outdoor activity to do with my family on a day trip from Orlando that could be paired with a meal at Dixie Crossroads. We did the Manatee encounter group kayak on Merritt Island Natural Wildlife Refuge. The tandem kayaks are easy to get in and out of and are relatively simple to learn for a... More

We took the bioluminesence kayaking tour. Cool tour. Leave as sun is setting. As you paddle it looks like glow in the dark as you stir the water with your paddle. We were led to place where generally they can count on schools of fish. As fish move through the water, you can see the glow as they go through... More

Summer through Oct. is best time to see the dolphins, manatees and boat wake, which all sparkle blue, and jumping schools of mullet, which remind you of blue bottle rockets and Roman candles. The bioluminesent plankton are amazing, magical. Your paddle, your fingers or feet, anything dragged in the water glitters and sparkles in the dark. There is little light... More

The bioluminescence tour was fantastic. We were a relatively small group and our guides: Josh and John were great! I had taken the manatee viewing tours a couple of times in the past with groups of 30 and more, so I was familiar with the company's professionalism and knowledge of the area. What I hadn't expected was how delightful it... More

I just discovered bioluminescence kayaking and on the recommendations from tripadvisor, I called A Day Away Kayak Tours. I left a message yesterday, and today, someone from the company returned my call. I have a group of possibly 50 people that may want to go and I need to get as much information as possible to give to my group.... More

Greetings...I am the one who spoke with you. I am sorry you were offended by the call or the answers I tried to give you. We would love to get you and your group on the water, however we have operated the way we have operated for 9 years. It does not always meet everyones needs. About the conversation...You asked... My son and I enjoy doing outdoor adventures. I have lived here for most of my life and didn't know about the Bioluminescent in the Mosquito Lagoon. My son booked the trip and we only knew what we found on the internet. The trip turned out to be so much more thanks to A Day Away Kayak Tours. We arrived... More

We had the most amazing night time bioluminescent kayaking trip ever!! It started at 10pm and finished about 12:30am. We took the whole family and we all agreed it was the most spectacular thing we have ever seen! We had a glowing manatee bump our kayak and hang out beside us, saw dolphin swimming around in the intercostal, and had... More

My wife and I have gone on the Bio-luminescence tour twice. The trip is just amazing. It is a night tour (need the darkness to see the lights). The trips were about two hours long. We did not find them to be particularly strenuous. The guide moves at a slow but steady pace. First, the sunset was beautiful. Once it... More
