During the peak of the space shuttle era this park was full of observers when the shuttle was scheduled to launch. The small park has several plaques describing the early space launches as well as a pier that offers a nice view of the Indian River. You may see manatees and dolphin if you are lucky. Fish jumping is quite... More

Nice park that showcases the history of the space program. We came here a few days before a launch, so I was getting a feel for the place and how it fairs as a launch viewing area. The walk along the pier was pleasant. The park was very clean and felt safe. I really like how the space displays are... More

The park is a great place to get beautiful scenery for your photos. From sunrise to sunset, it offers the perfect backdrop with the river and bridge in the background. Take a walk with family or ride your bike for exercise. It does get frequented by homeless people but I've never had an issue as I always made sure not... More

Watched several Space Shuttle launches from this park-located just across the river from SLC-39. When the shuttle was active, the park had ample room for the shuttle watchers, great bathroom facilities, and plenty of vendors. Just across the street is Burger King for a post launch snack. I hope to return when SLS begins to fly in 2017. I miss... More

The park is just a quiet place to reflect on Americas space travel venture. There is a burger place nearby where you can get some food to enjoy while at the park. I grew up near the space port and liked watching the launches but do not support the expensive program.

This is not a large park but does have nice memorials to the early US space program. A quick walk with restroom facilities and a pier on the Indian River is a plus.

This is a must see! It is a beautiful park, with interesting space information and monuments. There are piers/deck which you can walk way out onto the water where you can see dolphin and manatee. If you go at sunset, the waning sunlight creates a beautiful glow on the modern bridge across the bay.

Our local running group uses this park to meet up for weekend long runs. It always has a working water fountain, some shade, and of course, gorgeous views of the Indian River from the docks or gazebo.

The Park is small but provides an opportunity to think back to America's first manned space program; Project Mercury. With a beautiful view of the Indian River and across from the Cape launch facilities, it's the perfect place to reflect upon the seven astronauts who paved the way for the following Gemini and Apollo programs. The individual plaques for the... More
