We love having the opportunity to take our furry friend to the beach. They should be allowed everywhere. But this is a great option. The walk isn't too far from the parking lot, and the water rolls in gently, which makes it nice for dogs that want to chase a ball into the water. When we were there everyone was... More

Stopped by on a weekday morning and enjoyed watching the pups play in the water. If you have 4 legged family members at home, you will wish they were with you to enjoy it. The beach is extremely clean, for being a dog zone.

There were seemingly 100s of dogs out there when we went on a Sunday. Only ran into 4 piles of poop for the number of dogs. Kept my miniature pincher on his leash and harness. He had a great time meeting other dogs both large and small. Only one other dog (Jack Russell Terrier) attacked him for no reason. My... More

Parking can be a huge pain, especially on weekends. Either plan to get there early, circle the lot like a hawk waiting for someone to leave, or park further away and walk. Other than that, the beach itself is nice, albeit a bit crowded. I love that there are essentially two sides to the beach, an ocean side with gentle... More

We stopped by this place on accident, but it was almost one of my favorite experiences. It was so cool to see so many dogs and owners playing happily in the ocean. It was relaxing to watch all the happy people and dogs. It was impossible to not leave this place feeling good.

Parking can be a bit challenging on nice days on Saturday and Sundays. If you park outside the lot, be careful of poops and things. Big beach desingated for paws. Fun. Most peiple are respinsible dog owners and watch their dogs. There are some that don't supervise so watch out for random poops on the beach.

from Arizona and visited san diego. brought my timid, frisbee loving dobie to dog beach. minding our own business and threw the frisbee into the ocean. My dog went to retrieve it and three pit bulls went after my dog. She started to cower and shake as the dogs were nipping at her neck. I looked back at the beach... More

If you are near Mission beach or west of the airport, this is a great place. Many dogs, friendly people, good time. I preferred the dog beach on Coronado Island. It didn't smell as much as this did, but parking is tougher.

We recently visited San Diego Dog Beach and had the time of our lives. There are waves at the beach and also a lagoon area. There is a large sandy area between the two bodies of water.Parking nearby makes this a great place just for the day. We were impressed on how many people use the beach but there is plenty... More

I had never been to a beach were dogs are welcomed. It was fascinating to watch the dogs interact and play. I didn't take a dog with me, as I was 1000 miles from home but I was so impressed at the way the dog owners not only interacted with each other but cleaned up after their dogs. We sat... More
