This is a great place to let the dogs (we took 4 of our 6 with us) run free in the sand and surf. Wide open area and everyone was friendly. Only downfalls are limited parking and no nearby amenities for the humans so be sure to pack everything you need.

This is a great place. We were on vacation and were missing our pups. We had so much fun. Watching the dogs play and run in the ocean was a blast. Dogs would come up to me with ball for me to throw, others just wanted to say hi. Loved it!!!

A friend and I took our dogs for their first road trip from Las Vegas to San Diego, we got a dog motel on the Dog Beach. This beach is just great, we could walk from our motel, the beach is clean, the water is so beautiful. You are allowed to have you dogs off leash if you trust them.... More

The beach was clean, responsible owners ,and friendly happy dogs. If you are visiting the area, Pet Smart La Jolla has the nicest doggy day care, hotel. We left our two dogs there while we visited the area and didn't want to leave them in the hotel.

This beach was so fun. Off leash and with 4 border collies it was great to see then run play and swim. Lots of sand dollars( unbroke). So many I was amazed. Dogs loved it. We stay about 4 hours. Will be going back for sure.

I am not much on dogs. So when my daughter made me go I was not so sure I would enjoy this kind of beach. Anyway it is an experience to enjoy no matter how different it might be. The dogs are just like big kids. Seeing their friends and running off to play. Enjoy!

We came without a pup, but enjoyed the shared company of those who did have their canine friend with them. This beach is geared for the dog owner, period. Perfect too! (Don't bring your cat!)

San Diego's to be complimented for setting aside this place where dogs and their people can enjoy the ocean. I only visited once but did not see the unscooped poop (or smell it) that a few other reviewers complained of. All the dogs we met were friendly and well behaved. With such a heavily used facility I'm sure there are... More

Ocean Beach has been a great place to bring your dog to crap. But once they crap you should leave because the other dogs are mean, and there is a good chance you will get peed on if you stay still. If you keep moving, you will walk in dog crap. The whole village smells of dog crap from people... More

Step aside and smell the crap! Only went there cause my niece was having a party on the Ocean Beach side but too close to the DOG CRAP! What a disgusting place. If you have a dog keep it and its foul habits away from our nice beaches.. you selfish bastards!
