If you visit the Cabrillo National Monument, the Fort Rosecrans Cemetery is definitely worth a stop...it's right on the way to Cabrillo. What a peaceful and beautiful military cemetery! We've been to Arlington National Cemetery in Washington DC, and although Fort Rosecrans isn't as large, it's certainly every bit as beautiful. With the white headstones against the beautiful backdrop of... More

The cemetery was established in the 1800's prior to the civil war. It later became a National Cemetery. A place to take your children and pay homage to those who fought for your freedoms. Beautifully cared for, an honor to visit.

Somber experience. Spend a few contemplative minutes here strolling through the headstones. The views of the Pacific are amazing, too.

A very peaceful and beautiful setting. A humbling experience that makes one proud to be an American. Take the time to read some of the inscriptions on the graves.

Passed this on our way to Cabrillo National Monument. Beautiful, well maintained, overlooking the water. A tribute to those who fought for our country.

My husband added this to our itinerary and I'm glad he did. The size and beauty of this cemetery was incredible. The reality of what it stood for struck appreciation for all these men and women who served our country. What a great opportunity for discussions with our 11&12 year old children. The views are unbeieivable!

The setting of the cemetery at Point Loma overlooking the ocean with amazing views does justice to all the people buried here. To walk through and be surrounded by all the gravestones was an awe-inspiring experience that I have never felt before. It is a beautiful place to honor those deceased men and women who served for the USA.
