I liked the peaceful atmosphere surrounding the cemetery. It was so quiet while i visited. I was able to be by myself and just take in the experience. Fort Rosecrans offers one of the best viewpoints of San Diego as well. With hundreds of thousands of veterans, dependents, and spouses buried there, it is immense.

We went there around 5pm. It was quiet and beautiful and a bit sad to see so many tombstones of the soldiers who faught in WW I, II Vietnam, Lebanon, Korean and Vietnam wars.

A beautiful military cemetery that also has tremendous views of both the pacific ocean as well as San Diego harbor. I have often strolled thru the headstones while enjoying the dramatic views. The location is popular with bird watchers as it is a natural migrant trap. If you don't have a lot of time to spend or don't feel like... More

I am so thankful for those that have served to defend our freedoms, and what a fitting location for a final resting place…on top of beautiful Point Loma. Fort Rosecrans Cemetery is open to the public and reminds me of Arlington National Cemetery with the perfectly aligned rows of white headstones set high upon the ridge line of Point Loma.... More

Another example of how to remember the hero of our past. Row upon row of grave stones looking out over the Pacific! Well worth a short visit on your way to Point Loma.

Worth the short drive from the city to a beautiful cemetery on a beautiful peninsula. The cemetery with all the white headstones is awe inspiring.

The views of San Diego from this location are some of the best in the world--really! On a clear day you really can see forever: looking west you can often see whales spouting as they swim by, looking east you see all of Coronado, Naval Base, downtown, Mission Hills, clear out to the foothills and mountains in East County, and...
