Most visit Fort Rosecrans to visit those who served in the Arms Forces and have passed. That is my primary reason to visit; my close friends’ son didn't make it back from Afghanistan. It is most definitely worth a visit even if you aren't honoring the fallen. It has fantastic views of San Diego, the bay, Ocean and Coronado. Great... More

My father's ashes are at Fort Rosecrans overlooking North Island where he played golf often. Not only is this a meaningful resting place but it penetrates your soul and heart with every visit. It's a joy to visit 3 or more times a year - whenever I'm thinking most about Poppy.

Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery is one of, if not the most, scenic cemetery in the United States. I visit 2 or 3 times a year and always enjoy the peacefulness and scenic serenity of the place.

To read the service each of these individuals gave for their country. Many served thru 3 wars. Embraced the solemnity of this place and to watch the sunset.

While on vacation we were headed to Point Loma tide pools. We didn't know we would drive right through Fort Rosecrans Cemetery. As a military veteran I just had to stop and pay my respects. This was a great opportunity to talk to my 10 year old about the military, war and freedom. It was a great opportunity to take... More

This peaceful cemetary for our veterens of war couldn't be more beautiful. With a view from the Pacific Ocean on one side and the San Diego Bay on the other, this a wonderful place to go an reflect on the thousands of military who died protecting our country. A must see!

Driving out to Point Loma lighthouse and tide pools, the cemetery is on both sides of the road. Really gives you a sense of the enormity of the sacrifices made.

Solemn and beautiful with the perfectly rowed remembrance stones I met a man who visits his wife's remembrance in the wall weekly and cleans it with Holy Water. He said that was his life now. He loves his wife and will visit until he can be with her in heaven. Unbelievable experience and a wonderful place for that to happen... More
