On your way to the lighthouse make this a must stop. A perfect place to honor our Vets and if you are here for Memorial Day you will see thousands of flags placed on each grave by the Boy Scouts. On a clear day, looking east and south the view to the mountains and down into Mexico is amazing. On... More

The sight of rows and rows of tombstones was awe-inspiring. We didn't see a place to park or visit the cemetery and weren't sure of the proper way to pay our respects, so we just drove past.

A beautiful location to pay your respects to those that have served America. Breathtaking views combined with the humbling scenes of the cemetery make for a nice, patriotic visit.

We have three active duty children currently serving in the US Army and Navy. It seemed appropriate and respectful for us to pay a trip to the National Cemetery. It's true what everyone says about the spectacular views of San Diego on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other. But, when you stop a moment to realize all... More

The cemetery is between a naval base and Point Loma lighthouse. It is on top of cliffs overlooking the Pacific ocean. Location is beautiful for those who have served.

I drove to Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery last week and was not disappointed! I had seen it on the internet and it appeared to be in a beautiful setting. I have been to many cemeteries across the US and I believe this was the most beautiful cemetery setting that I have ever seen! The Pacific Ocean borders it on the... More

It's a solemn experience to walk on such hallowed ground. With more than 100,000 burials, casualties date from 1846, when the U.S. declared war on Mexico, to present day and include soldiers from all wars and all branches of service. There are no less than 20 Medal of Honor recipients laid to rest here. We were not looking for anyone... More

We just happen to be driving around before heading to the airport and we came across this cemetery. It is breathtaking - both the cemetery and the views! It overlooks San Diego Bay and the city of San Diego including great views of downtown and Coronado Island all on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other. Very peaceful... More
