We just happen to be driving around before heading to the airport and we came across this cemetery. It is breathtaking - both the cemetery and the views! It overlooks San Diego Bay and the city of San Diego including great views of downtown and Coronado Island all on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other. Very peaceful... More

The cemetery is a moving place. A final resting place for hero's over looking the beautiful ocean in San Diego. It is a moving site and I was glad that I happened upon it. Just stop in before going to Loma Point Lighthouse.

A nice Navy/Military-style cemetery with a uniform headstone aligned arrangement and a great view of downtown San Diego. The cemetery is pretty good-sized and it is a typical cemetery for this type. I have heard rumors that this place is haunted, but no evidence to substantiate those claims. A worthwhile visit.

Fort Rosecrans is a beautifully laid out cemetery that provides both views of the city to the east and panoramic views of the Pacific to the west. Great place to take in the sunset.

My father is buried here, so I know FRC well. Catalina Blvd splits the cemetery in two as it heads out to the Cabrillo National Monument (another MUST) when visiting SD. Don't let the word "Cemetery" keep you from at least driving through the cemetery. Much like the Normandy Beaches in France are a MUST, so too, is FRC. To... More

This is a great place to remember our heroes. Just walking down a few rows of head stones and reading the names and dates can give you a sense of great respect for these men and women. The view is awesome as well. Make a day of it end head down the road a little further to the tide pools... More

Gorgeous view of the ocean and bay. Lovely Memorial Day service. Beautiful tribute to our past soldiers from all wars. My father is interened in the wall and I've been there many times.

The Fort Rosecrans Military Cemetery is beautifully set on the Point Loma peninsula overlooking San Diego and the Pacific Ocean. The grounds are meticulously kept and the windswept trees magnificent. Very peaceful walking among those that have protected us from harm and paid the ultimate price.
