What a beautiful cemetery and awe inspiring. There is a lighthouse nearby. Don't think you can tour that.

We took our Grandsons here and explained to them the sacrifices all these Military Men and Women made for our Country. A History lesson for them.

we stopped at that Cemetery on our way back from the Cabrillo NM and it was the Veterans Day. It was a very touching visit.

We visited our nephew's grave, and in the company of our Son in Law, located his Uncles grave also. We were there of course, to pay our respects to our departed, but the beautiful location, high on a bluff, overlooking San Diego Bay, North Island Naval station, and the Nuclear Submarine docks are well worth the drive.

This is a breathtaking cemetery. It can be overwhelming when you think of the men and women who lie here but a great opportunity to reflect on life, history, and pay respects.

It was an impressive and beautiful place, but it lacked much in the way of explanation or history, we turned to the Internet.

Alot of people don't understand how a cemetery can be a beautiful place, Fort Rosecrans is. I am not from a military family but this is sacred ground and it makes you think of all the Men and Women who gave their lives so we could visit places like San Diego. We were there at Sunset. Quiet, peaceful, a time... More

Driving up to the cliffs you see rows upon rows of white crosses so perfectly aligned. Sad but beautiful at the same time, you want to pull off the side of the road to reflect. Ocean views, tree lined mountaintops, makes this a stunning view.

My father was a 20-year Navy veteran. His urn of ashes is in a columbary overlooking San Diego Harbor, in this beautiful large military cemetery in Point Loma. When I went with my mother to visit, we had little trouble finding the location. Unfortunately the cemetery is closed to further interments/burials, but as far as I know, cremains are still... More

Rosecrans Cemetery is a very powerful place to regain your patriotism. On Veterans Day, a flag is placed at every single grave sight. Brings tears to my eyes every time. You can wander around and breathe in what our country stands for, and perhaps appreciate what these men and women did to keep us safe.

Thank Susan C
