We booked the 3.5 hour whale watching tour in late April. I went into this expecting not to see any whales because whale season was actually suppose to be over but do to some activity it was extended by a couple of weeks. We had a wonderful captain who taught us so many interesting things about all the sights leaving... more

The Hornblower whale watching cruise was a great experience. They advertise it as 3-3.5 hours, but our cruise lasted closer to 4 hours since we saw a lot of interesting whales. The crew was informative, friendly, and slowed down or turned to get a good look at various group of whales. They have 2-3 naturalists on board to show pictures... more

I have been on the Sunday brunch numerous times; it's a great place to take people visiting SD! A great way to see some of the highlights of the city; the food is above average and more than you would ever expect for being prepared on the boat. The free flowing sparkling wine definitely makes it worth it...they can be... more

My grandparents booked a table for the dinner cruise to celebrate their 64th wedding anniversary. Although it was fine, I could not help but walk away feeling relieved that I had done some investigating ahead of time and knew what kind of trickery to expect. First of all, when my grandmother mentioned that it was a special occasion and requested... more

We were so looking forward to this cruise as we wanted to learn more about San Diego and all the ships in the harbor and have a nice time out on the water at the same time. The whole first half of the cruise there was something wrong with the sound system and you couldn't understand anything the narrator was... more

The ticket agent who we purchased the tickets from sent us and a bunch of other people to the wrong boarding dock. By the time we all figured it out, people who purchased tickets after us were boarding first. We ended up having to take the last seats available. That was disappointing. The cruise tour itself was very relaxing and... more

When on the whale watching trip with my significant other. I became very sea sick as soon as the boot left the harbor into the open seas, LOL. My wife enjoyed the trip and saw seals, birds, dolphins and 4 whales. It was a great experience for her. As I sat on the bench closing my eyes for 3.5hrs, I... more

As I was boarding the ship, the crew members were very enthusiastic and friendly. They were even making conversation with the guys in front of me based on their Packers and Cowboys shirts. And yes, I took the picture by myself. I just moved to San Diego and wanted to get to know the harbor, little did I know, most... more

My fiance and I booked a sunset dinner cruise aboard the Hornblower for my birthday. Growing up, I'd always wanted to have a fancy dinner cruise and was excited we were able to this year. My expectations, however, were NOT met. The hornblower offered the WORST service we've ever encountered. Upon sitting down, we waited for 20 to be greeted... more

I booked the One Hour North Harbor cruise for 4 adults and 2 children. We had a great time. The guy talking through the whole thing was informative but a tad annoying a few times. You've got to keep the kids entertained so I suggest standing with them at the front of the ship and pointing out things yourself. Along... more
